What's so hard about keeping with Nolan's Batman, too realistic? Well.....yeah. Really, if you're looking to go the Marvel route, where you have movies that connect for a Justice League movie, it doesn't make sense to have this realistic portrayal that shuns magical and fantasy elements, while having him be involved in another series full of fantasy and magical elements.

Message to Hollywood: You don't need to reboot franchises that are still going strong. But isn't this the last Nolan Batman movie he's doing? He's gonna produce the next ones, but he's pretty much finished with this trilogy. Seems like it's better for someone to reboot, give a new vision, than try to replicate it and end up making it worse.

Considering Nolan has brought Warner Bros. a billion dollar franchise, Inception, Prestige, and possibly producing a Superman hit I highly doubt he's going to let them reboot Batman.
Nolan has Warner Bros. at a place where they won't do anything to piss him off.

Oscar winning actress and Inception co-star Marion Cotillard has officially joined the cast of Dark Knight Rises. www.imdb.com/news/ni9764532/Also some character news. Cotillard appears to be playing Miranda Tate, a W.E board member and possible love interest for Bruce Wayne. And I hope this is not BS this time but Joseph-Gordon Levitt is playing John Blake a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon .

Now filming. FIRST SET PICTURE. OH MY GOD FIRST SET PICTURE. {Spoiler} Yeah. What a picture. Does show what could potentially be a Lazarus Pit I suppose.

The picture does indeed look like it is that.
While the concept of such a thing might not fit exactly with the, imo, overly realistic portrayal from Nolan, I would like to see it being used.

Considering they've annouced the casting of a young Ras, hell yeah thats a Lazarus Pit!
I am worried about this film though as the cast seems really clustered. However I was worried about The Dark Knight returns and that was really good so I'm ready to have my fears eased once more.

Nolan has never disappointed me, aside from Bale's Batgrowl, so I'll be optimistic until given a definite reason to think otherwise.

Its purely because the cast seems really over stuffed and we have not one, not two, but THREE villains in the film at least so far. But we have no idea how they'll be used, wouldn't be suprised to see Bane used in a way similar to how they used Zsazs in Batman Begins. But no matter my doubts, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman makes me very, VERY happy

I've a feeling I'm about to seem really stupid here... but they have annouced who he's playing and sadly its not RAG . Which is a shame, as that would be awesome.

That seems to be a theme with third films in comic book movie franchises...X-Men...Spider-Man...and I guess now, Batman.

Yeah, but then with the first one they announced various casting things and then it wasn't.
Him being just this random beat cop seems...........pointless.
Why bring in a brilliant actor and then just have him be a cop, and not even one with a link or storyline from the comics, just, well, as far as announced (granted could have a brilliant and huge storyline in the film, but still), just a cop?
I just get this horrible feeling the more I read about this film that with Nolan being so intent on being realistic, that some things just aren't going to work out well for me. I was one of the few people who didn't like the slightly more realistic view of the Joker (love Two-Face though).
Meh, we shall see.

New plot details RE: Previous photo {Spoiler}Recently-published set photos of The Dark Knight Rises may be detailing the origin of Bane. The Dark Knight Rises Community details what it says the shooting entails.
"Eyewitnesses and crew members told us of a particular scene being filmed," says the site, "where a bald-headed child wearing ragged clothes emerges from the well and pulls his hood over his head. From the conversations, we reckon this is a young Bane, emerging from a vat of Venom, trained by Pence's Ra's al Ghul. The years of addiction to Venom builds him to be a massive monster with amped up senses, intelligence and physical prowess."
Take this as a rumor for now, as nothing is confirmed yet. Josh Pence is playing a young Ra's Al Ghul, though no one has been announced as a young Bane at this time and Tom Hardy has not been seen on location.
