Seriously, is it bad that I'm more shocked when a day goes by without an injury announcement than I am by the injuries themselves?

There were rumours going around the other day that he'd be making upwards of $7mil. for this fight, but that may have included his sponsor money. And Sonnen gets bonuses out the ass for all his promotion and media work. I believe he was expected to bank around 2mil. but obviously those were speculation/rumour. And that also might've included his sponsor money

Mr T L Wolf
Hank Scorpio
He has the looks of Andre the Giant, and the strength of Barry Windham. Not to mention he's a hero to a few armadillos, a kangaroo and a small herd of bison.

Meltzer said today that UFC 147 did 175-200k buys and 148 did right around 1 million.
Apparently 148 only doing 1 mil. prompted a "This Sucks" text from Dana, but it's still the highest buyrate for a non HW or LHW fight. And it's still a damn good number, even if trending numbers pegged it much, much higher

On FuelTV tonight, Chael Sonnen said that the knee hit him in the face.
"The knee hit me in the face and yes, you can't hit the knee to the face, but it's the referee's call and there's no instant replay. I don't want that to change. I've done plenty of things in the ring, in the heat of the moment. The referee didn't say anything, so it's fair game. The knee landed where the knee landed, the result is the same and I don't dispute the results."
Sigh as much as you want.
Also from that interview about the shorts holding:
"That was a new experience. I've never had that happen in practice. It was a different feeling – trying to get away when a guy is holding onto your shorts. But I don't resent him for any of that stuff … because I would do the exact same thing, had I thought of it … Good for him. He showed us something new."
So, yeah, Sonnen be Sonnening.

See, I like Chael when he's actually using the truth as a statement backer, but that's straight bullshit. Instant Replay has been used by the Nevada State Athletic Commission since Aug. 12th 2009. Hell, it's what they used to pin the only loss on Jon Jones' resume with those 12-6 elbows. So if it was ilegal it would have been called and Chael would have won the fight. His act is old now, so go away for a bit Chael, step out of the limelight for a bit, and come back when you're ready to try and get a third crack at The Spider.
