Phantasm is a fun film, but it left me with too many questions at the end for me to really enjoy it properly. Sooner or later I'll get around to watching the sequels, which according to the good folks at Wikipedia make the events in that first film make a bit more sense. I'm DYING to see where this goes.

Apparently that was a typo. It won't be attached to Apollo 18.

Season 2 of The Walking Dead to be split - the first 7 episodes air in the fall, then the last 6 start airing Feb. 12. Also, the S2 premiere will run 90 minutes.

I watched The Screaming Skull last night. It is a Laughably bad experience and about as scary as a bundle of kittens.

I watched The Screaming Skull last night. It is a Laughably bad experience and about as scary as a bundle of kittens. Haven't seen the un-MSTed version. I remember that being one of their lesser episodes, and that even Mike and the Bots had trouble making it funny until the very end. The scenes with the douchebag husband chucking a chair at the specter and then being bitten by the skull (read: holding it up to his face) are priceless.

I really enjoyed the second one, thought the third was so-so and enjoyed the fourth one (though most fans hated it).

Apollo 18 apparently flashes a link to www.lunartruth.org which gives you a "This was censored, see the movie for the truth" nonsense. But there is a link on it, hidden at the bottom to missioncontrolblog.org/ which, I suppose, has nonsense and 'info' on things from the movie. Oh, and according to reviews I've seen, Apollo 18 sucks. Bummer.

Honest-to-the-heavens, I would actually pick Apollo 18 as the horror choice for the weekend. It's sure going to be better than that Shark Night PG-13 garbage.

I'd probably pick Apollo 18 over Shark Night just for the fact the scifi/space/horror is a real joy to me and there's never enough of them.

Just realized that I forgot to say that I caught Don't Be Afraid of the Dark last weekend. Surprisingly, it was a good little film. The characters are quite likable (well, with the exception of Guy Pearce's usual "completely oblivious haunted house movie father" - man, that is one trope that I'm getting tired of), and the atmosphere and visuals are quite well done. Is it scary? Not really, but the movie is a classic example of "less is more" played out to excellent effect. It's built around a certain event at the end of the film that hits surprisingly hard, so bully to the film-makers on that one. I'd give it *** out of ****.

(well, with the exception of Guy Pearce's usual "completely oblivious haunted house movie father" - man, that is one trope that I'm getting tired of) I'm reminded of an Eddie Murphy bit from DELIRIOUS (paraphrased 'cause I can't remember it word for word): Father: "Oh man, look at this house, it's amazing! Look at this living room! We got a gigantic yard, everythin-" The House: "GET OUT!" Father: "...Too bad we can't stay, pack up everything!"

They're making a sequel to the CG Resident Evil movie. This is the teaser for Resident Evil: Damnation, the follow up from RE: Degeneration.

The director of the Straw Dogs remake tweeted about Shark Night 3D last night: You can find his account at: twitter.com/RodLurie... What? I wanted the thread back to the top of the page and didn't have any movie progression news to post. And since I brought up Twitter. Here's a couple random Horror related accounts: @robertbenglund - Robert Englund. @wescraven - Wes Craven @warwickadavis - Warwick Davis billoberstjr - Bill Oberst Jr. (An upcoming horror actor who pulls off creepy exceptionally well)
