Dana White is probably comitting suicide as we speak about how much money he is going to loose on ppv buys though. After tonight, Brock isn't going to be the PPV draw he once was as a regular. Now if he goes away and comes back in a couple of years and tries to emulate Couture's return, then maybe.

I feel sorry for Brock. I believe out of the thousand professions he has done in his life, he enjoyed this the most. I'd be happy to see him back in WWE, but it won't be the same.

They have his rights for the video games, they have a commercial relationship (they showed the big show superplex a couple of months ago), even Brock quoted he wouldn't turn down insane money for a program/match. I'm not saying it won't happen, I'm just telling you how I think it will go down. C'mon, you wouldn't mark out to hear this music on a random RAW?

i don't think any of US hate him, but we easily see the equilivent of "smarks" in the MMA world claiming him to be overated and just a big take down guy. who retired with an underwhelming 5-3 record its better than guys who have had 60 fights and only won 30 of them with no world titles right? again I'm not personaly knocking him, but I can see a whole of others playing these cards when retrospecting his career

Yea I agree, but age...and not facing Frank Mir, health has caught up with him. Man I bet some one even more upset is Frank Mir after this. no trilogy.

Well, looks like I was wrong about the fight. Overeem is UFC's next big thing. He's not Brock in terms of PPV numbers, that's for sure. But he could still be a star for the UFC.
I think it's best that Brock retired. He looked slow and tentative tonight and with his health problems, he probably shouldn't be fighting anyway. Maybe things would have gone differently if he remained healty. It's hard to say. I think not having the years of experience in MMA hurt him but I think he sitll has a career you can be proud of. He won the UFC title, beat some big stars, and became the biggest draw in the business. Both Brock and UFC benefitted from the relationship.
I don't see Brock returing full-time to the WWE though. He hated that lifestyle. But Brock is a guy who likes money and I just can't see him passing up a final big paycheck or two. I think he'll make some kind of appearance. Maybe a match, I don't know. Hell, if they could get him to wrestle Undertaker at WM, that would be pretty damn cool but I don't see that happening.
Diaz/Cerrone was a damn entertaining fight. I understand Cerrone didn't want to go to the ground with Diaz but he absolutely should have in the final round. Hendricks KO of Fitch in 12 seconds was certainly a surprise.
EDIT: I would have laughed though if Brock had said after his fight "Vince, I'm coming home!"

Brock retiring was instant karma for Dana White celebrating Jon Fitch getting KO'd.

Brock retiring was instant karma for Dana White celebrating Jon Fitch getting KO'd. He hasn't felt this bad since Forrest choking out Shogun was followed up by Chuck losing to Jardine.

Just got back from the sports bar. Great night of fights for Fitch alone, I imagine Dana White dancing in his woman suit tonight because of it.
But I have a few small confusions about the main events.
Why didn't Cerrone attempt to dodge or block any punches? Why didn't he engage on the ground when he was clearly winning on his feet? Why did he only footsweep?
and
Why didn't Brock go for a single takedown? The one time he somehow had Overeem's leg, he let go of it like he was allergic. What gives?

Either he mailed it in and was only there for a check, or he was intimidated and afraid that would get blasted by an Uberknee if he shot for a takedown. Either way, the guy didn't believe he was going to win that fight.

Well, there's still time to throw a cool million at him to have him be Mr. January 2nd on Monday!

Meltzer says that there were indeed celebrations in the Dana camp over Fitch losing.
As for Lesnar, as soon as Reem kicked him in the midsection, you knew Brock would crumple. So sad what his illness did to him. Reem is a monster, can't wait for him vs. JDS.

So, what's next in the heavyweight division? JDS/Overeem for the title definitely. I guess that leaves Cain Velasquez and Frank Mir as the next top contenders. I think there's a Roy Nelson/Fabricio Werdum fight in February.

I think there's a Roy Nelson/Fabricio Werdum fight in February. I think Strikeforce is eliminating their HW division after the Grand Prix final between Cormier and Barnett. I'm assuming both will be in the UFC after that fight. The winner of that fight is probably next after Cain/Mir winner. Or they fight the Nelson/Werdum winner.

I think there's a Roy Nelson/Fabricio Werdum fight in February. Mir Vs Cain and Reem vs JDS sound like awesome fights. I think Roy beats Werdum handidly since Roy can defend Werdum's Jiu Jitsu and he has much better punching power than Fabricio.

Apparently the winner of the Grand Prix gets one more fight against the opponent of his choosing, then Strikeforce wind the division up.
