*sits back, observes thread, holds in any thoughts until January* By the end of december when the BCS bowls are announced you won't be holding your thoughts. They always screw somebody and it causes a stir

Bama lost McElroy, Ingram, and Julio Jones- and they're ranked 2?!
Oregon returns some of their big guns offensively, and yet somehow Bama is ranked ahead of them?
That defense better be good enough to compensate for what might be an unintimidating offense.

They'll get the opportunity to prove it though, as always the SEC West is a war of attrition from a buncha talented teams. Looking forward to it. Their first big test will be when my guys go to Tuscaloosa.

Looking at my alma mater (Toledo's) schedule, we stand a pretty good chance to do quite well for ourselves this season. 9 wins on the season is achievable, and with a little bit of luck we can hit a 10th (provided the old Toledo upset happens).
2nd bowl game in a row? Why not!

I just want us (Michigan) to be respectable again. I don't expect it to come fast but, just to be in a few games, to keep things close, would be nice after the last few years.
That said, come Nov. if we don't kick the shit out of OSU, I'll be pissed.

That defense better be good enough to compensate for what might be an unintimidating offense. We've got two quarterbacks who are far better than McElroy. Trent Richardson will probably out perform Ingram. We just signed the #3 rated WR in the country. The defense is gonna be ridiculous.

Hey, today a BUNCH of speculation has occurred about A&M going to the SEC again. Anyone else up with this? A guy out of Dallas says yes and it will be announced in 2-3 weeks a dude from the ticket in SA says it's not gonna happen.

^Imagine that.
Just read something that almost made my head explode. Speculation from "Experts" say that Texas could be eyeing Indipendent status anyway. So, it could be that TU wanted that all along(they have TLN and wouldn't have to share a penny with the Big12), they could schedule whoever they wanted ala Notre Dame(OU, A&M, and nine cup cakes). Or it could be that A&M and Mizzu are serious this time and TU is rolling with it and will go Indy thus screwing baylor, OU, Okie Light, KU, KSU and ISU. OU will land on their feet no matter what and likely with OSU in toe. But meanwhile ISU, KU, KSU and Baylor would be stuck thumbing a ride into CUSA or the desperate for good teams in TV-land mountain West

That said, come Nov. if we don't kick the s*** out of OSU, I'll be pissed. Hoke is the man that will bring us back to where we expect to be. 6-7 wins this year, 8-9 and a new years day bowl next year and after that, consistently will challenge for the big ten title. His recruiting is simply outstanding and he gets what it means to be the coach at Michigan.

That defense better be good enough to compensate for what might be an unintimidating offense. The Bama defense is projected to be out of this world. Also, Saban doesn't ask of his qb's really, just manage the game well. Either one of the kids competing for the starting job can do just that. I personally believe Trent Richardson is as good or better than Mark Ingram. I do agree about the receiver thing though, their best wideout this year is nowhere near as good as Jones is. In terms of Oregon, their offense will be lights out again I'm sure but they will have trouble getting stops, much like last year.

I'm diggin' the annual SWC revival with them and the Hogs in JerrahWorld.

Why not! I'll tell you what, of all of Syracuse's pre-season opponents, you are the one I'm most worried about. Considering that we've lost only a few starters, I'd be pretty confident in saying that Toledo has a strong chance to beat a non-conference opponent (that isn't the University of New Hampshire). Syracuse is the easiest of those 3 other non-conference opponents. The other two... we'll be struggling to be competitive in those games as they're against Boise State and Ohio State.
