Todd_Wright Whoa! Jeff Tarpley of AggieYell.com just told me on air he hears via A&M sources that NORTH CAROLINA may be in the mix as SEC's 14th school. Jesus, is Russo booking this conference realignment?

UNC to the SEC? Now it changes things. Not really football wise, but what is Dickie V gonna do if UNC can't play Duke twice a year?

Dare I say that the UNC move is a Baseball move? It's the only explanation that makes sense. Sure UK/UNC in basketball looks nice, but that's all you get on the b-ball end.

Anyone got any Syracuse news? Prince Tyson-Gulley is back at practice after he got stabbed over the summer, no word yet on the status of Marcus Sales. Team looks good in Practice though from what I've seen.

Missouri getting into the SEC would be a massive win for them. No way they were getting into the B1G.

Tim Brando is saying on twitter, that if Mizzou gets the chance, they are gone.

All of this conference realignment is going to create a couple of super conferences where the champions of each play for the national championship virtually every year.

From Tony Barnhart:
- Florida State to the SEC is not happening. FSU has not heard from the SEC regarding an invite to join. Also, a lot of the SEC schools are against FSU joining, mainly because FSU shunned an invite in 1991(when they got Arkansas and South Carolina).
-SEC Presidents are meeting today rather than tomorrow to discuss A&M joining.
-According to a very high source in the Big XII hierarchy, only way A&M is out of SEC is if SEC Presidents vote against them joining.
-SEC Commish Mike Slive is 100% confident that A&M will get voted into SEC, would not have called meeting if felt he wouldn't get desired outcome. Slive feels status quo is about to change and wants to be proactive, not reactive, in making the move now.
-Oklahoma feels like Big XII can survive as long as it has both them and Texas. OU wants Big XII to survive as its the easiest path to BCS Bowls/National Championship game to them.
-Virginia Tech is no go for SEC because of Virginia politics(would have to take Virginia as well).
-SEC is looking east at the Carolinas, mainly NC State, but would take either Clemson or Mizzou as 14th member.

Any guesses on who the ACC is going to replace. I think ECU would be a good replacement and maybe UCF as a backup in case they lose another team.

The Texas A&M joining the SEC is another death nail for the Big 12 in my opinion.

Clay Travis of OutkicktheCoverage.com thinks that the FSU/Clemson to SEC rumors are an attempt to derail the A&M/SEC deal: outkickthecoverage.com/fsu-and-clemson-have-no-shot-at-the-sec.phpBasically: -Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina have a pact that they would vote against Georgia Tech, Florida State, and Clemson joining the SEC. Plus, the SEC will not expand into markets where they already have teams present. -SEC Commissioner Mike Slive runs league with near unanimity, meaning that he wouldn't push an expansion vote if more than one school is against. -If SEC were to extend offers to ACC schools, they'd look at expanding into Virginia(VT, Virginia) or North Carolina(UNC, Duke, NC State, Wake Forest). -SEC could also make run at Texas Tech.

Wow. The last 24 hours have just been a giant clusterf*** of news for College Football. First the Ohio State ordeal, now the A&M to SEC thing. What next, Auburn and Oregon having to forfeit the entire last season and TCU getting the BCS National Championship?
