Yeah.....Mike Gundy definitely took things way too far if all of that is true. For f***'s sakes it was just an OU shirt. He's a man! He's 40!

According to ESPN, the A&M to the SEC deal will be made official on Monday. They will begin play in 2012 in the league.
They're looking at Clemson, FSU and Missouri as their 14th team.

Sadly, I think Nebraska will get blamed for the Death of the Big 12, even though COLORADO was the first to jump.

Sadly, I think Nebraska will get blamed for the Death of the Big 12, even though COLORADO was the first to jump. Nah, the death of the Big XII will be blamed on Dan Beebe. As well it should. Nebraska and Colorado did f*** up when the Big XII began by voting for an uneven revenue sharing plan. Of course at the beginning of the Big XII Colorado and Nebraska, were the top teams. They then got passed and Oklahoma and Texas were the top money makers, so they got a bigger cut. The Big XII had the worst revenue sharing out of the BCS conferences. Revenue sharing played a part in the death of the Big XII, but Beebe oversaw it all, and even doomed the conference when he wouldn't vote for a playoff.

reminds me of that reporter who got fired from her radio station after, I believe if the the Arkansas coach, criticized her for wearing a Florida hat. Anyone who would ruin someone's livelihood because of college football allegiances is an asshole to me.

I heard yesterday about how that's a reason Nebraska jumped. Because of the Big Ten (plus Indiana) Network revenue sharing being equal among all eleven teams, frickin' Indiana was taking home more than the Huskers.

MattJones_YMCMB One thing to remember on SEC statement. Could be tortious interference of contract to invite before A&M votes to agree. May not be over yet

Or put more clearly:
BryanDFischer First step is A&M officially deciding they want to leave. Then they'll ask the SEC. SEC will invite them. A&M will accept. Lots of steps.

PeteThamelNYT A high ranking SEC official called today's statement a way to "tap the brakes" so the Texas A&M can "get its house in order."

Pretty much what the SEC did yesterday was less of "we don't want Texas A&M in right now" but more of "we don't want to look like we're stealing them". They refer to it as "tampering".
The Aggies are doing this out of spite, but you know what? If you're stuck in a conference where all the attention and perks go to one school, you have every right to be pissed. As bad as my Hoosiers are, at least we have a decent deal where we get the same amount that Nebraska and Ohio State will get. In the Big 12, Baylor and Iowa State don't have that luxury.
Texas and Oklahoma will want to keep what's left of the Big 12 alive just to make it easy on them, as it was for TCU to move to the Big East. Why club it out against some of the best teams when you just have to beat a few stiffs and your main rival to reach a BCS game?
Unfortunately, you can't really have that mentality, and there's no way the Big 12 will want to replace departed members with Conference USA or WAC schools. I have a feeling that dissolution will end up happening.
It sucks that some rivalries are going to disappear, but this is the nature of the beast right now.
