IndyCar got exactly what they needed tonight, with a good, safe, and exciting race on a 1.5 mile track. Dixon was running away with it before spinning out and hitting the wall, which put the lead in Power's hands before he got penalized for blocking Kanaan and dropped a lap down. Rahal took over the lead from Briscoe and looked like he would lead the rest of the way, but brushed the wall with 2 laps to go. He managed to save the car but the brush allowed Wilson to take the lead and the win. It's Dale Coyne Racing's second win ever, and Wilson's first since 2009. Rahal took 2nd and Briscoe was 3rd. That was an awesome race all around. Made the drivers actually drive the cars for the first time in years! Hopefully Indycar feels confident enough to go back to places like Chicagoland and Kentucky.

Loved seeing the end of pack racing and passes for the lead actually matter. Wouldn't mind the 1.5 mile tracks back on the schedule if the racing is as good as it was in Texas.
Was good to see when a couple drivers did hit the wall that they did not lift off the ground. The rear wheel guards worked well also, when Power chopped Kanaan. I like how the cars look but I know a lot of people don't, but it's hard to deny how well the car has performed this year.

NASCAR needs to throw the yellow (or red really) and fix the f***ing timing issues. This bullshit.

They'd consider going back to Pocono? I thought the whole point of them leaving years ago was because the banking got too high for them?

It's lower banking than other tracks IndyCar runs at, namely Texas. I think it was safety concerns as well as financial reasons that led to Indy cars leaving the track. The SAFER barriers added recently are a big help, plus I think it was repaved recently. They're apparently also looking at Laguna Seca and Road America.

I wouldn't mind them going to Laguna Seca or Road America but they have enough road races

I have lots of great memories about that track from CART in the mid-90s like the Zanardi pass in the final laps on the corkscrew in turn 8 and Gil de Ferran's first win as well as that really awesome '99 race.

NASCAR special test at Michigan. The speeds have now gone into WTF territory. Currently, Tony Stewart is fastest at a shade under... {Spoiler} 202 MILES PER HOUR That's average. Some cars could be hitting 220 into turn one, and NASCAR has no plans to put plates on. Expect a FAST race come Sunday.

Nice Qualifying position by Reubens there. If he's at least gotten half-way decent at running oval (judging by his Texas and Indy results, he ain't half bad) he might actually have a shot at winning this thing. I also noticed that the first two rows have all the major teams represented.

So any idea where the Indy Car finale will be now that China, Pocono and Texas have all said no?

I also noticed that the first two rows have all the major teams represented. He was really good at Indianapolis this year, which is closer to Milwaukee than it is to Texas. He didn't start at Texas due to mechanical issues, but he did qualify 12th which isn't bad for a rookie, which he really is on the ovals. He might have a chance at winning tomorrow, but KV Racing doesn't exactly inspire confidence in getting the job done. So any idea where the Indy Car finale will be now that China, Pocono and Texas have all said no? Other tracks mentioned include Chicagoland, Laguna Seca, Road America (though possibly earlier than the finale), maybe some other long shots like Phoenix as well. No clear picture at this point though. It's going to be a financial hit for someone involved most likely, given the short notice. Hopefully it's announced soon.
