Dario Franchitti wins the Iowa heat races to take the pole position for the Iowa Corn Indy 250 tomorrow night. It's Franchitti's second pole in a row, but he'll be looking to avoid a similar result to what happened in Milwaukee, as he crashed out of the race in 19th-place.
NBC Sports Network is going to have a lot of coverage tomorrow (all times Eastern): 7:30 pm - IndyCar 36 with Charlie Kimball 8:00 pm - Iowa Corn Indy 250 heat races 9:00 pm - Iowa Corn Indy 250
And then whatever time the Indy 250 ends will feature the Iowa Indy Lights Sukup 100 race.

Marcos Ambrose will sit on the pole for the second race in a row, this time for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sears Point Infineon Sonoma.

Sebastian Vettel sits on the pole for the European Grand Prix at Valencia, after a bloodbath of a session that saw championship rivals Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber miss the top 10.

How fitting would it be if Danica wins on the 40th anniversary of Title IX?

How fitting would it be if Danica wins on the 40th anniversary of Title IX? Jacques punted her off the course before it could be realized. Nelson Piquet Jr. started on pole and won the race! Michael McDowell second and Ron Fellows third.

Slight rain delay for the Iowa Corn Indy 250, but things are about to start. Looks like a good crowd on hand as always, and Iowa always puts on a great show.

Michael McDowell second and Ron Fellows third. Yeah, three of my uncles and I got there in time for the end of qualifying, which was when Piquet won the pole, then we waited through the Rolex series race before they got to the Sargento 200. Turn 5 was a lot quieter than expected- until after Lap 30. That's when one guy skidded off track and went into the gravel, then Villeneuve got shoved to the wall, wrecking his chances of winning, then Allgeier went through the gravel, and I think that was what hurt Kurt Busch too. I actually hiked over to the start/finish line for the last couple of laps and saw Piquet win and do the burnouts. Also got to see him drive into a very shady Victory Lane and get trophies and photos and such. All in all it was great, but damn, I wish I had earplugs.

Tagliani spins out before the start, and now Franchitti's engine just blew up.

Viso and Power make contact after a good run by both drivers. Jakes is leading at the moment, should be Castroneves soon enough, with Hinch in second.

Hildebrand brings out another caution while Franchitti joins the commentary and proceeds to tear Viso apart. Viso had pointed at his head to Power, like he was asking what he was thinking. Franchitti says it's "a bit rich" and says Viso has hit everything on the track except the pace car.
Top-three is Castroneves, Hinchcliffe, Hunter-Reay with 110/250 completed.

The frontrunners keep dropping like flies:
Briscoe gets taken out by Newgarden while leading and looking for a yellow.
Now Hinch spins into the wall and somehow avoids collecting Pagenaud and Wilson - really close.
Order: Dixon, Andretti, Castroneves, Kanaan, Hunter-Reay, Pagenaud, Wilson, Barrichello, Rahal, Carpenter all on the lead lap, with 50 to go.

Legge into the wall, race will end under caution.
Ryan Hunter-Reay will win his second race in a row, Power retains his championship lead but by a slim margin.
Top-ten: 1 - Hunter-Reay 2 - Andretti 3 - Kanaan 4 - Dixon 5 - Pagenaud 6 - Castroneves 7 - Barrichello 8 - Carpenter 9 - Rahal 10 - Wilson
Fantastic race yet again. Aside from Detroit this IndyCar season has been awesome.

Caution with 4 laps left. Looks like we're gonna have a GWC finish.
