RAW RATINGS....THE TREND CONTINUES by Dave Scherer @ 7:14 PM on 9/7/2011
The 9/5 edition of Raw did a 3.0 rating with 4.2 million viewers. Once again viewership dropped as the show went on as hour one did a 3.06 and hour two did a 2.94. Monday Night Football returns next week with a doubleheader.

Hey look at that last week before football season and we go down.
Punk shouldn't have ever been taken out of the title scene.

Hey look at that last week before football season and we go down. Punk shouldn't have ever been taken out of the title scene. Punk and his angle have been getting significantly more airtime over the last several weeks than del Rio, so I doubt that is affecting the ratings. At all.

Going by recent ratings and booking choices, I'm thinking Punk hasn't exactly been a ratings draw in the main event.

Going by recent ratings and booking choices, I'm thinking Punk hasn't exactly been a ratings draw in the main event. That's because while Punk gets more screen time.........the main event is once again Cena.

In fairness, Punk has been taken out of the title picture, and the main event, and we're back to Cena vs [Insert Name Here] title feuds.

That's because while Punk gets more screen time.........the main event is once again Cena. The main event is quite clearly Punk and HHH, as far as RAW goes. Cena/Del Rio is 1B at best.

How come over the past three weeks, Cena has ended every show?

How come over the past three weeks, Cena has ended every show? Because the children of the world must know that justice prevails.

How come over the past three weeks, Cena has ended every show? Because Trips and Punk have started every show, which is just as big, if not bigger. And Del Rio wasn't even there last week, while the big draw was the Punk/HHH announcement on RAW, and the contract signing on Smackdown. Like I said, at worst, they're equal main events. To act like Punk/HHH hasn't taken loads more screen time is foolish.

How come over the past three weeks, Cena has ended every show? Because Punks angle does not really lend it self to that being part of it.

Last week Punk's match lost around 200,000 viewers while Cena's gained around 400,000. The "people are tired of Cena in the main event" arguement doesn't really wash with me until the numbers start backing it up. It's the midcard/diva segments that are killing the overall ratings right now. Punk's match lost viewers because it was Miz. Fans know that's a snoozefest.

The Punk s/l has lost some steam since HHH became involved.
And Del Rio/Cena is a bore.
Next week I expect a 2.8 as well.

Punk can't draw flies to dung. But blame WWE for some of this too. They took all the steam out of his character as soon as he won the title:
"Hey guys, look at me, I'm going to win the belt and then walk out of this hellhole... only to come back two weeks later with a cute new titantron, t-shirt, and some dated them song that hasn't been cool since the early 90s. And spend most of my time bickering with HHH and his Clique buddy."
Revolutionary he ain't.

He has been thrust into a shitty angle where all 3 guys seem like neutered versions of themselves. HHH is a draw, Punk is becoming a draw, Nash dr.....is tall, and theyre all in a crap angle.

I'll say it, Punk isn't a ratings draw. Going out and cutting interviews every week sounding like a whiney internet smark isn't going to bring in new viewers.
WWE should've never killed R-Truth's push. Now that was a money maker.
