I think this is what the Miz and Truth thing is leading to. I think it is all leading to them and Nash creating a new modernized version of the nwo or Wolfpack and Cena will turn on WWE and be the heel leader of the group with Orton and Punk in somewhat of the Sting and Luger role as top face defenders of WWE. I think it will all happen at Survivor Series. Think about it. Wouldnt Cena's thuganomics gimmick be a great leader for a Wolfpack type of stable? Then this makes his match with Rock all the more important. Rock will be the defender of the company that made him a star going up against the ultimate heel Cena that smarks and marks hate at Wrestlemania. I want this recorded in this thread so that when it happens I can say I called it.

I disagree. Cena will be the face for the foreseeable future.

I disagree. Cena will be the face for the foreseeable future. Maybe but I keep getting this feeling that this is all being done to set up the biggest heel turn since Hogan. I think they may have been planning this since Punks first pipebomb promo and that is what all this is leading to. Think about it. Cena is already going to get 90% boos at Mania. Why not make those boos mean something? Otherwise i have no idea where the Miz and Truth storyline is going. If they just put them with the Otunga union that'll be such a waste.

I'm with Dave. I've been discussing this with a friend of mine as of late, and it's a good idea, IMO.

Why would Cena turn? He'd have nothing to sign over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over *pose for silly picture* and over and over and over and over again.

I'm with Dave. I've been discussing this with a friend of mine as of late, and it's a good idea, IMO. Yeah I mean it may sound a bit far fetched but I've been watching old nitros from 1996 lately when the nwo formed and I'm seeing a lot of similarities. In a mad scientist sort of way it does make sense. Cena finally snapping because of all the boos could be huge.

I don't see this happening at all. I think they've had more opportunities to turn Cena that made sense than to seemingly do it now for no reason... Also it's the year 2011... can we let the damned NWO thing stay dead... isn't it enough that it helped kill one promotion? Why would Cena turn? He'd have nothing to sign over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over *pose for silly picture* and over and over and over and over again. That should truly be why he turns heel... I'm sick of signing all those damn pictures!

I see the similiarites and they've dropped some weird red herrings (Nash putting over Cena on twitter), but it would be a minor reach logic wise for Trips to turn right now. Compared to that, it would be a MASSIVE reach logic wise for Cena to turn.
It just wouldn't make any sense, one of the best things with Hogan's turn was that he was off TV while the angle built, so he didn't get into any logic clashes with the turn.
Another problem is that Thuganomics Cena would be a heel with the smark crowd for about a month. That's the character that got him over as a face in the first place. Like the nWo you'd end up defeating the purpose of the angle by giving the crowd something edgy that they like.
WWE fans are good at doing what the angle wants them to do, but this one would be tough.
I do think they're in a stage of cribbing 90's WCW angles, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did a version of the nWo angle, I just don't think Cena is the guy

1. Cena accidentally got McMahon relived of his duties, when he agreed to everything himself. 2. Triple H cost Cena the title at SummerSlam. 3. Kevin Nash, Triple H's best friend was going to attack Cena had he won at SummerSlam. 4. John Cena didn't get to main event Night of Champions, despite being in the WWE Championship match. 5. Cena let himself be attacked to show that Triple H can't control anything.
Could be something where Cena is trying to get Vince back since he owes it to him and it's partially his fault he's gone. It's also worth noting that Cena was also a victim of bad officiating, as were Miz/Truth.

He is the only one I can see that can lead an nwo like stable. Miz is big but he isn't that big. Punk would be way too obvious. Orton doesn't have the Mic skills to pull it off. That only leaves Cena. All he has to do is snap and turn on his team at survivor series which I'm sure will be full of the top faces...most likely Punk, Sheamus, and Rock.

He's too deep into the angle, that's the problem. He'd have to allow himself to be beat up a bunch of times and that's when it gets into silly territory. This is why Hogan worked so well, he missed out on all the mayhem and then conveniently showed up. I think Trips is going to end up being "the guy" and even that is a bit of a stretch. I just think that it's something that looks really good on paper but it isn't going to work. The first problem is that Cena will become a face with the crowd pretty fast, probably even over the Rock. It's not Cena the crowd hates (well, most of them), it's his lame ass superhero character.

The idea is not to have had Cena in on it from day one. The idea I have is to to have him just snap and turn on WWE because he us pissed off at the fans for booting him and for a number of other stuff that is happening such as losing his title in a cheap way.

The ONLY reason I think this might happen is because CM Punk is outselling Cena right now. If there was ever a time to capitolize on his popularity, and make the NWO prevalent again, it would be now. CM Punk could be the face that leads the WWE to victory against the NWO, and I think it would be riveting television.

It'd be great to see CM Punk as the rebellious hero of the WWE. It actually would make perfect sense, too. Remember his return promo from August - "I love the place I work, I just hate the people in charge". CM Punk loves WWE, so it'd make perfect sense for him to defend it against corporate scumbags.
