Who had a better run than you expected? Who had a worse one?
Better: -CM Punk - I only expected him to get to IC level. -Cody Rhodes - I thought he'd be where Ted Dibiase is now. -Miz - I didn't expect anything from him. -Batista - I expected him to be a musclehead with no passion or skills and quickly released.
Worse: -Rhyno - I actually thought he'd be a world champion. -DDP - I thought he'd be a main eventer. -Vader - I thought he'd be the top heel for a long time. -Basham Bros. - These guys were legends in developmental. They were nothing in the big leagues.

I thought Miz would last two months at most.

Worse? MVP. He had a nice little run but I honestly thought he'd be huge. He had all the tools.

Worse: Marcus Cor Von, definitely. I'd have figured the Alpha Male would've been a champion of some sort before he left. To be fair, he had no control over that, though.

I second Cor Von. I was so damn pumped that Monty Brown had made it to the main roster and saw huge things. I had a blind faith in Punk becoming huge. It was only a matter of time in my eyes. Same with Daniel Bryan although his initial year made me think his current run would never happen. I never would have expected Johnny Nitro to end up on ECW and have the good run he had main eventing with Punk. Certainly never saw him as a singles champion other than IC.

DDP easily. I was a huge fan of the guy and the way WWE treated him, was sucky at best. Good wrestler, great mic worker and had an established fan base....and the only thing WWE thought he could do, was stalk the horse-face Taker was married to at the time?? Really??? *facepalm*

When Jeff Hardy came back, I did not expect him to last a year, let alone be a world champion and arguably the most over guy on the roster.

Far better: Miz- I expected him to stay babyface a lot longer, and basically be a Zack Ryder-ish midcarder with a few US title runs. Batista- I saw him as pretty much a midcard hoss, a la Ezekiel Jackson.
Slightly better: Punk- While I already figured he would eventually be pushed into main events and win a world title or two anyway, I didn't forsee him becoming the co-face of Raw.
About what I expected: Bryan- I assumed he was getting an "experimental" WHC run at a certain point just based on his overwhelming reputation. Though I'm sure none of us saw YES taking off.
A little worse: MVP- After his feature on the CBS Nightly News, I thought the sky was the limit for him. Then he fell downhill.
Way worse: Scotty Goldman- I was certain he was going to be the Santino of Smackdown at the time, but they just couldn't find anything for the guy. Braden Walker- While I already felt that James Storm was a more well rounded talent, I couldn't imagine Harris shitting the bed like he did.

Did better than I expected: Daniel Bryan (never thought WWE would push him to the world title) Cody Rhodes (always thought DiBiase would be the more successful of the two) Mark Henry (I thought any hope of major success for him was gone years ago) Zack Ryder (didn't think he'd be able to get over on a large scale) The Miz (thought he would have been long released by now) Dolph Ziggler (with that name and his initial gimmick.....he's done exceptionally well)
Did worse than I expected: Alex Riley (thought he was going to take off after his feud with Miz) Kofi Kingston (thought he was going to take off after his feud with Orton) Drew McIntyre (I expected him to be a world champion by now) Ezekiel Jackson (for some reason I thought he'd get really over) Sin Cara (he's pretty much been a failure) Ted DiBiase (see Cody Rhodes)

No mention of Kennedy under the worse column yet? I expected him to be an 8 time world champion, to my chagrin, at this point.

Better: Zack Ryder- totally expected him to be released last year at some point, but as long as he can beat Kane, looks pretty solid career wise for a while
Santino- After his initial face run bombed, I never thought he would do anything until the dating game segments came along
Batista- Figured they would initially push him, but thought he would get pushed down after his borefest of a match against Kane at Armageddon 2002
The Great Khali- I thought he'd wash out after they pulled him from a PPV just because he sucked so much, but hey he continues going along despite being terrible for the INDIA MARKET
JBL- Never would have thought he'd be champ during his run in the APA
Miz- self explanatory
Worse: Kennedy- Sort of his own fault, along with injuries and so forth but the man's weaknesses continue to be more and more exposed
Ted DiBiase- expected huge things when he initially debuted
Sean O'Haire- Looked like he was going places with the Devil's Advocate gimmick, but the Roddy Piper/Hogan ordeal really screwed him and his character up
William Regal- The guy is still very successful, but he was always insanely over as a heel and the rare times he was a face, so I thought he'd be a heel on the level of what JBL was in his prime. Sort of his own fault for the Wellness violation in 2008, but still has the skills for a big run
Zeke- his awesome run as Brian Kendrick's bodyguard fooled me

For an old school "better" example, I would argue the Undertaker. Dude was pretty much a nobody in the NWA/WCW before jumping ship, and then got tagged with a gimmick that most guys of that era probably couldn't have lasted a year doing. Yet here he is, how many years later, one of the biggest names in the sport?

I was never a fan of his, but I always thought John Morrison would be main eventing PPVs for a long time. I just thought he was exactly what WWE would push, but I didn't take into account the anchor around his neck.
I expected Punk to win a world title one day, but did not see him becoming one of the faces of the company.

Better: Bryan. Never expected him to be the world champ.
Worse: Kaval. I expected him to at least be a midcarder for a few years.
