I still think it'd be a bad plot twist to have them be the same person, regardless of how they did it. I prefer having two opposing forces that are just as bad. Makes it more exciting to see how Korra would finally deal with the situation as opposed to her just having to take down one person to make it all better. I agree. Defentely more realistic war than in Avatar: The Last Airbender where the two sides were black and white. Aang sided with the anti Fire Nation side, which was an easy decission. Here the bender vs non bender is more complex and complecated. Each side has their own justificiation. It is more like Gundam when the two sides had shades of grays oppose to black and white.

To be fair to the original, there were anti-Fire Nation villains (Jet, Hama, the Dai Lee initially), and pro-Fire Nation sympathetic characters (Iroh, Jeong Jeong, Piando). So it wasn't completely black and white aside from the Fire Lord and Azula being evil.

Are the Equalist / Amon really that justified tho'?
Someone did X so we must get rid of Y forever, that really seems a but extreme to me. Tarrlok is just as bad.
We've had 100 years of peace and people want to blow it up for meh reasons.

Amon is right that benders have an incredible amount of power over non-benders. He is right that benders have been using their powers to extort and intimidate non-benders. He's right in that the benders have all the power on the council and in the police force. That's all been established in the series. But their solutions to them are draconian. That's what makes them villains. If his solution was just "We want equal say in what goes on" then he'd be Martin Luther King Jr. But his solution is to forcibly take bending from everyone who has it, so he's a villain.

When they got on the battle field, Earth Kingdom / Water Tribe vs Fire Nation, there was no question which side the audiance and Aang himself were suppose to side with. There was never a internel debate of maybe the Fire Nation is justified in wanting to spread their prosperity to the world. If it is a war between Amon and the Equalist vs Tarrlok and his task force. There is no clear good side for us to root for. You can sympatise for the good benders that are very fearful of the Equalists and what they could to to them, you can sympatise for the good non benders that being oppressed by Tarrlok and his task force.

Do you have freedom with the risk on anarchy or do you have strict laws that violates free will?

Yeah, the main thing to remember is that Tarlokk and Amon are two sides of the same coin: extremists, but in different positions to enact their extremism in different ways.

Did someone tell Korra she couldn't use the bathroom until Saturday?

Bump, because I'm telling myself we are now under 10 hours away from the possible (spiritual) return of the former Last Airbender...

Wonder if we'll see Tarlokk again. Outside of maybe a cameo or something, kind of doubt it.

Older Sokka was perfect. He obviously matured, but hadn't lost any of his Sokka-ness.

I love how Toph still called Aang "Twinkletoes."
And Amon's a bad motherf***er.

I was hoping to actually see Aang, but I did like how they had Korra and Aang communicate strictly via the flashbacks.
