How about this, guys:
From here on, please refrain from mentioning stuff that isn't explicitly shown in an episode. I'm not going to knock the posting about Zuko; I just stumbled onto that information in the online game, too, but I'm a bit disappointed that now I won't be surprised if he shows up.
Still, let's just play it safe: stick to what's in the show, spoiler tag the rest. Also, when you spoiler tag, write what your source is for everybody; like, write "Saw this on the official website: <whatever the spoiler is>", or "WebsiteXYZ has this information: <spoiler here>", etc.

I'll be honest, I finally gave in and gave the show a chance last night, and....yeah, I really just couldn't get clicking with it. Korra's literally the ONLY likeable character. And it just feels like they ripped all the "fantasy" out of the fantasy setting that was the last series.

And that episode is what I needed to fully get on board with Amon. I was liking him despite some nitpicks before, but that episode sealed it, he's awesome.
Though I'm not liking how transparently evil they're making the head of the task force. The guy seems to be ready to pull a backstab at any moment.

I'll admit, it would be a cool swerve if Tarrlok simply turned out to be a vain douche who sincerely wanted to protect Republic City, while gaining a little bit of power for himself un-maliciously.

I am not sure about Tarlok either, is he just a jerk or is in kudos with Amon. The guy is power hungry so wouldn't suprise he would sell out to Amon at some point. But we had jerks that were on the protagonist in the first series like that Earth Kingdom general that tried to force Aang into the Avatar State and Haun.
Anyway we found out about one of Aang's past battles, I hope we get to see a flashback to that. I love to see him and his friends as adults.

While Tenzin's kids are awesome, I wasn't digging this episode for the most part. It just seemed like it was missing something for me. I'm convinced the new girl is a villain though. She just screams it.
However, I love Amon for explaining exactly why he wasn't taking Korra's bending away. You can't argue that he did the stereotypical thing in showing hubris by not finishing her when he had the chance, he actually had a legitimate, logical reason for not doing it.

Amon's becoming an awesome villain. I love it. His "I could kill you now, but I won't!" moment was actually logical and not typical villain hubris.
Also Asami = hot. I'd tap dat. Apparently her design was inspired by Lust's from Fullmetal Alchemist (hopefully not her personality; I don't want her to be a villain). She also distracts nicely from the obvious Korra/Mako pairing everyone's coming up with.

I don't think Asami is a villain or even associate with the Equaliest. But they will tease that because I think Korra will eventully think that. Have an episode when Korra plays PI and tails Asami all over town. tries to prove that Asami is working for Amon. And there will be some red heiring clues to makes us think that. But in the end proven wrong. That or Asami will turn out to be a double agent with her real loyalties are to the White Lotus and Tenzen, but pretend to be with the Equalist. Like Gajeel in Fairy Tail.

Just watched episode 4. Holy crap, some great stuff.
Main complaints I'm reading so far is that Korra doesn't really feel like a team of friends with the brothers the way Aang felt like one with Katara and Sokka. I'd say that's alright; the setting, pacing, and style of storytelling in this series is extremely different from the original series. Aang bonded with his friends over the course of a worldwide adventure, Korra's not doing that. I'm sure they'd have liked to work a bit more stuff with them together into the show, but there's obvious time constraints.
Flashback shots of Sokka/Toph/Aang? Holy crap that looked great. Side thought: if the original series comic continuation goes on for a long time, I'd be thrilled to see them show the GAang's progression all the way to adulthood in Republic City.
As of now, Amon is the most intimidating figure seen yet in the Avatar universe. Fantastic job with him. His "Greater Plan" is in place, now we're going to have to learn what it is.
Concerning the new characters, specifically Tarlok and Asami: interesting feeling like you have no clue who you can trust. I'd love to see Tarlok wind up being simply what he is: over-ambitious, not 100% ill-intentioned but definitely manipulative, etc. Asami...we'll wait and see. Obviously her set up screamed "she's secretly evil!", but give the way the series has gone so far I doubt they'd go for the easy answer like that.
Also, obvious FLCL reference was obvious. Absolutely loved the voice over work in that scene.
EDIT: by the by, was I the only one half-expecting Korra's eyes to start glowing once Amon reached towards her? Interesting that we haven't seen the Avatar State yet.

I'm sure they'd have liked to work a bit more stuff with them together into the show, but there's obvious time constraints. Well the original series was a 61 episode storyline. The creators have said the whole Equalist storyline will only be 12 episodes, so yes expect things to move superfast. The difference here, in the original the goal of Aang and the water tribe sibling was to help Aang master all of the elements, so he can defeat the Fire Lord and save the world. Compare that to Korra and the brothers, their goal is to win a tournament and win money and gain fame, rather trival goal compared to the original series. But I am sure it won't be long till the brothers decide to take part in taking the Equalist movement. Another possibility, I think the pro bending tournament will not have a conclusion, and will be intrupted by Amon and the Equalist will invade it. Just like in a lot of manga / anime tournaments like Dragon Ball and Fairy Tail, they rarely have a tournament a bad guy intruption.

Also, I know earlier that I said I wasn't a big fan, but my brief watching did engender a pretty strong feeling in me:
The main villain(I forget his name, Amon?) of the series? His "burned by benders" story is bullshit. At some point, when that mask comes off, it'll be either someone we've already met, or will meet soon. There's no way he tells "the burned" story, and doesn't take off his mask as an exclamation point to prove it. Bet on it, his "unmasking" will be a prelude to a betrayal of epic proportions.

Been a few days since I've seen it and all so I forget, what was the FLCL reference? Mako got hit by an attractive woman on a moped. Proceeded to crush on her. The guys behind the show are avowed FLCL fans.

I echo that Asami is HOT, I mean those eyes? Daaaamn man.
I think Bolin might hook up with Korra eventually, and adult Top, Sokka, and Aang, especially Aang, look boss!
Also this episode made me realize something, the Koh theory explaining Amon's powers can't be true because Amon still has his yes. Remember, when Koh steals a face, he takes the entire fac, eyes and all.
