New episode today. I expect this to be a big game changer turning point episode. This whole Equalist plot will be resolved by the end of the season, so we are at the half way point.
I expect Amon to have a major victory, and a devistating lose for Korra. This is going to be like "Crossroad Of Destiny" or at the very least "Day Of Black Sun", with the villain coming out on top and the heros have to regroup.

{Spoiler}And that confirms the speculation. Tenzin and Lin used to be an item, and she's angry at Korra because of it.

Fantastic episode, the best of the season so far. {Spoiler}I'm so glad they finished the pro bending arc, it would have only gotten worse if they dragged it out longer. I was satisfied with how they ended, and how well it played into Amon's plan in ridding the Wolfbats of their bending.
Lin was awesome in this episode.

Guess the next episode's going to mostly center around fallout, maybe along with the brothers trying to find somewhere else to live or something.

I tell you Amon's method reminds me of how the FN took Ba Sing Se, an inside job. It was brilllent, the old villainess Azula would be proud.
This episode does actully make me suspect Mako's girlfriend and her dad. We don't see them at all, when the attacks happen. All it would take was one shot of them being shocked and terrified and the fandom suspeccion of them is gone. Maybe they paid off the refrees, one Amon is saving Korra for last, so he doesn't want them to win, or they know what Amon has planned for the winner, and paid the refrees to protect Mako and his teammates.
I called it, Lin was the other women. I guess a moment of silence for a certain ship. RIP Tokka.

I hope they keep using Tahno down the road. He could have some interesting character development considering what happened to him.

The whole "She's pretty and rich therefore she MUST be evil" would be kind of cliche. And the refs really didn't protect the Fire Ferrets, did they? And the best part of the episode: "And one of those men just came into the booth. And he's pointing that glove at me. I am wetting my pants."

I think you misunderstood what I meant by pay off the refs to protect the Fire Ferrets. Not in the match, but from Amon because they know what Amon is going to do to the winners. So paid off the refres, so they would lose and Amon won't make them an example. Anyway they didn't show the Satos for a reason. The writers want them to at least be red herrings.

I think Amon made clear he didnt want to take Korra bending away YET.I think Amon wanted the Werebats to win, even more because they are dirty cheater, wich is even better to his publicity Or the werebats paid the referees and it's all a coincidence.

I think the Wolfbats paid them off, and Amon knew because he had done his research and they had a history of doing it. He knew they'd do it again, and was ready for it to happen.

Yeh i will go with this one too.Makes more sense. For me,the Wolfbats already knew the ref were paid at least, since they cheated the whole match. I was also very satisfied that the guy had his bending taken away..but this bring the question Is the guy a Energy Bender?Or he just blocks chi trought the brain?

It's possible the bats paid the refs, but I think that Amon may have done it. He wanted to depower the winners, but he needs to save Korra, to prevent her from becoming a rallying point. The announcer continuing to do his job while being threatened with electrocution was pretty funny. I'm glad to learn a little more about Beifong, and the glimpses of Adult Aang and the Gaang were pretty interesting. Of course, the best part of the episode is Spongebob laughing evilly while Korra falls through the ceiling.

It's probably a technology enhanced chi-blocking. As they had cattle prods, there's probably some electrical mechanism he discovered that can permanently disrupt electrical signals to the chi locations in the brain, blocking the bending. And yeah, given how the Wolfbats knew from the beginning to cheat, they were obviously in on it, and knowing what Amon was doing, I doubt that'd be the case if some mysterious stranger paid them off for them.

Oh my god...SPONGEBOB IS AMON!
And about Amon not wanting to make her a motivation for benders. What IF he is a Energy Benders, doesnt the other bender need to have a weak spirit?Maybe, just maybe he cant take Korra bending yet until he weakens her spirit

If they have wealthy benefactors, it's possible they just never questioned it. Given they cheated right off the bat, odds are they are used to getting away with it.

Which is really why I don't think it was Amon. They were comfortable/creative enough doing it that it seemed obvious that they had done it before. While it might make sense for Amon to do it this time, it wouldn't any other time. So them or a sponsor probably has a good history of paying them off, and Amon knew that the temptation to beat the Avatar would be too great to prevent the team from doing it again. His part was calling a threat on the stadium. That'd increase exposure further so his message got to more people. But I don't think he actually had to pay the refs off.

He did say that them going through with the tournament was playing into his hands, though, so if they called it off, it'd be a wasted opportunity to him. I personally think that what happened was that Amon knew of cheating beforehand and capitalized, or it's possible that he intimidated their benefactors into stepping aside for his machinations.

I know who Amon is. Amon is old man Jenkens. You see he was looking for a lost tressure and scared everyone away. And all he has to say for himself is he would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for the meddling Avatar.

That's what I think. He knew that they had a history of cheating, and the allure of beating the avatar would drive them to do it again. Knowing that, the tournament would play right into his hands as long as they did what he expected. The only question that raises is why call in the threat to begin with if that was always the plan. I think him calling it in would get more people watching, or at least give his men the opportunity to knock out the police to show that they were powerless to stop him, thus undermining the value of bending further.

Another thing, why were the Fire Ferrets underdogs? They have the Avatar on the team, shouldn't any team that has the Avatar be favored. The Avatar is suppose to be the most powerful bender in the world.
