To me, Tommy Young was the greatest referee of all time. Who do you think was the greatest referee of all time?

Some may laugh at the idea because "he's just an indy guy who never worked for a major promotion," but, Bryce Remsburg. He's every bit as good, and even a bit sharper, than the Tommy Youngs of wrestling's past.

Tommy Ran, who's been reffing everywhere in joshi forever, is pretty awesome. Willing to take ridiculous bumps and other shit when she has to, has a lot of personality but never feels like she's doing it in a way that overshadows the wrestlers and can be pretty funny when doing a comedy match (like the Hirota/Kikutaro vs. UematsuRan match).

I dunno if Bryce is the greatest EVER, but he certainly has a place in the discussion, alongside Tommy Young, Charles Robinson, and Nick Patrick. Weirdly enough, I can't honestly think of one guy that spent his whole career in the WWF/E that sticks out as a "greatest" candidate.

Mike Chioda. Hebner was good but I felt sometimes he was putting himself over during other wrestler's moments.

I always liked Joey Marella. He never seemed as hammy as the Hebners.

Randy "Pee Wee" Anderson and Brian "Mark Curtis" Hildebrand always come to mind for me. Love Bryce too but sometimes he sticks out too much for me which I don't like in a ref.

THIS. Honorable mentions to Tommy Young, Teddy Long, Earl/Dave Hebner, and Tiger Hattori.

I thought Joey Marella was a pretty good referee. Never seemed to miss a beat when he was involved in a match and never made anyone look bad. True shame his life was tragically cut short.

I've always been a fan of "Little Naitch" Charles Robinson. That guy had a long career with WCW, came over with the Invasion, and has been with WWE ever since.
