Was just digging around through the archives to find the old Chikara threads, and man, good times. That said, whatever happened to Yoshiaki Yago? That dude needs to come back HARD. I heard he was working with SMASH wrestling, but since they seem to have folded, any idea what he's doing now?

Yago kinda devotes his time between DDT and SMASH, before they closes, andy a handful of micro-Indies. He's in his 40's, I think, so he's more of a part-timer now.

So I'm in line for the show already. Wanted to get here early and well, mission accomplished.
I'm the one in the Lundqvist jersey.

Some notes from the show:
- Popcorn was $10. Gavin was bragging about the Jigsaw in a Blankets. - Chants of "Justin Bieber" and "Chris Brown" were at The Bravados. - The Bravados tried to start a USA chant. People chanted Japan instead. - Crowd was split between Jig and Kingston. - Mr. Touchdown low-blowed Cabana behind everyones back. After the match, he spiked his football on Cabana. - 3.0 distracted the Bravados during their match against the Sendai girls. Bravados returned the favor by attacking 3.0 during their match against GEKIDO. - Donst took Hallowickeds mask after the 'Royal Rhombus' match. - After the main event, Kingston got on the mic and gave an emotional speech, talking about how he's had a beed week since his best friend wasn't going to be there for the 10 year anniversary (talking about Sweeney of course), that Jigsaw is another best friend of his and that he loves him, and hopes the crowd enjoyed the match they had (which they did).

Awesome weekend, the first night especially was loads of fun. Few random thoughts while still on my CHIKARA high. 1.) Carolina Jim! I want this man at every show again, stat! He gives the shows such character that I miss. 2.) Shane Storm! I'm probably the only man marking out for him but I don't care, bro! Any sighting of the man is a good one to me! 3.) And now for the rest of the marking! Jolly! Rorsch! Steel! And CROSSBONES! I think I now know what schoolgirls felt like when the Beatles first arrived when he came out from the back!/flails/ 4.) The MMA match was the greatest thing in the history of our sport. I practically was reduced to tears. 5.) GEKIDO were awesome. Don't even care their storyline didn't really progress this weekend. 6.) Donst is going bald, mark my words. 7.) Dasher vs. Cabana might've been one of the most slept on matches the entire weekend. Great match and Dasher continues to prove to me why this guy's been one of the most unsung heroes of CHIKARA for years! 8.) Jigsaw got jobbed and all was right with the world. 9.) Four-way trios was MENTAL! MENTAL! I was losing my god damn mind! 10.) Didn't see it mentioned but there was another CHIKARA star in attendance at Horse. Unless it was a hobo that looked remarkably like him... {Spoiler}Vin Gerard was also lurking in the crowd. /resumes flailing and runs off/

Steve "Turtle" Weiner wrote a post on 101 saying that Easton was his last Chikara event as he's moving to Colorado. Blind Rage was there.

That's an awesome picture, not gonna lie. my favorite is the kid in the Equinox mask and John Cena shirt.
I'm still nervous about the GEKIDO thing, if what people are predicting is true then this angle is going to suuuuuuuuuucccckkkkk.
So is there going to be any progression with the returns of Crossbones and Frightmare? While Bones might be a one time thing (unfortunately) Frightmare has to give some backup to the Envoy in the weird angle with Donst, Ophidian, and Delirious.

5/21/2012: This whole "Synergy" thing between CHIKARA and Ring of Honor hasn't affected me at all...up until now. Did you know I've never wrestled for ROH? Not even a pre-show tryout match. Not even once have I stepped foot in a Ring of Honor ring. To be honest, I'm not too familiar with what's going on over there at all. But I'll tell you what I am familiar with: The Young Bucks. I've stood across the ring from Nick and Matt Jackson many, many times. They truly are one of the best tag teams in the country. But another thing I'm very familiar with is tag team wrestling. You see, as of April 29th, myself and Johnny Gargano are the only team to hold los Campeonatos de Parejas twice. In the six-year history of the most prestigious tag team titles in wrestling, no other team has done that, but me and Johnny did. Losers don't get to strap those golden belts around their waists. Or at least, not for long. Right, 3.0? You lost them in your first defense to a superior tag team. I'm not going to come on here and say that we are the best tag team in the world - because I don't have to. Our track record speaks for itself. People from other wrestling organizations, even people from within CHIKARA have talked about trying to destroy this company. I have no desire to destroy CHIKARA, or Ring of Honor for that matter. I love CHIKARA. CHIKARA is my home. I may not want to destroy ROH, but if you two California boys think you're going to waltz into "Chikarasaurus Rex," dethrone the greatest tag team on the planet, and waltz out with our belts, you better start thinkin' fresh. I'll fight tooth and nail to make sure those titles don't show up on ROH's syndicated TV show after June 2nd. Maybe people have forgotten, but before I was Campeon, I held the Young Lions Cup. The longest-running tradition in this organization. And where is that Cup now? In Osaka, Japan. Who knows what they're doing with it over there. Wink Vavasseur should have never let Tadasuke walk out the door with it. You think I'm going to let the Bucks walk out of here with CHIKARA's Campeonatos? Nick and Matt, I respect your athleticism. You two make a great team. But beating great teams is exactly what Johnny and I do. See you on June 2nd boys, CT

Wow, that last paragraph...I've never agreed with a heel more, especially Chucky T. And I LIKE Tadasuke.

Wow, that last paragraph...I've never agreed with a heel more, especially Chucky T. And I LIKE Tadasuke. For realsies. Albeit that blog instantly made me think "Oh god, the Bucks are winning, aren't they?!?" It just seems perfect rudo bait for a rudo to rant about that, only for it to happen and them have egg on their face. I'm...unsure who I'm rooting for, still, with this. I really don't want Gargano's main event level push to continue and the fact that he's now a two time tag champ sickens me. But the thought of the Bucks with the belts...brings back horror flashbacks of PWG.
