John Cena vs. Jesus is one of those things where you REALLY gotta have context.  Also, it's always amazing to me how messed up Kane's mask looks in match graphics. At least we can say John Cena beat Jesus. (Try saying that in a crowded group with a straight face, though.) Well, he was pronounced HEY-seus. Didn't change the fact that the match really went nowhere. |

Bret left right when some of their biggest new characters were about to launch in the attitude era. There's that weird short lapse of time where he was there along with Kane, the New Age Outlaws, etc. It's a shame we never got Bret/Owen vs HHH/HBK during that time period. It's baffling, actually.

What's the deal on this one? SummerSlam 2008. First time Cena and Batista faced off as opponents. This was also the first SummerSlam in nearly seven years to eschew the "tropical" motif in favor of a "movie blockbuster" motif. Ironically, the place where SummerSlam 2008 took place wasn't Los Angeles, but Indianapolis. |
