Great thread. I never knew graphics for matches could have so many errors to them.

Great thread. I never knew graphics for matches could have so many errors to them. And sometimes they have things that just makes them so right....

Wait, so did Austin just leave the arena before that match could happen or did it actually happen?

Wait, so did Austin just leave the arena before that match could happen or did it actually happen? It didn't happen. Austin told WWE on that Sunday/early Monday morning that he would no show if he had to put over Lesnar. They wouldn't budge, so he no showed and they fired him. In fact, I don't know if that graphic ever appeared on television, but they showed it in all of it's exact 2002 glory on one of the Austin DVDs. That's where I found it.

Wait, so did Austin just leave the arena before that match could happen or did it actually happen? Lesnar was initially supposed to qualify for the tournament by beating Austin, but Austin didn't like the fact that Lesnar was getting a win over him in such a simple fashion (little buildup, a random qualifying match on Raw, not on a big stage) and it was one of the factors that led to him walking out. Lesnar ended up qualifying against Bubba and rest is history. At least, that's how I understand it.

Austin didn't refuse to put Lesnar over. He refused to put Lesnar over in a random qualifying match for KOTR. Not that KOTR isn't important , it's just Austin/Lesnar is definitively a PPV match and a Money Maker.

Yes there were other circumstances that contributed to him not wanted to put Lesnar over THAT DAY (most of which I can understand), but at the end of the day, he outright refused to put Lesnar over in that match and no showed. I didn't mean to mislead and say he would never do it. He actually said he would if they promoted it properly.

I knew that he didn't want to job to him in a throwaway match on Raw, but had no idea that they kept those match graphics around. Weird but really cool.

These are awesome. I have been looking for more of the graphics for matches that never happened. I always thought the Vengeance 2002 ones looked lazy. "Hey everyone its Vengeance!!.....so...."

For those of you hotlinking... STOP IT!
I had to clear out a page worth of responses due to one image being hotlinked from an attack site.

I can't seem to find it, but there should be an Unforgiven 2008 one with Cena/Punk/Kane/Batista/JBL as the scramble match. Of course, Cena was taken out weeks before, and Punk was taken out during the PPV.

Thats it.
I wonder how on earth the match would have went, with no Jericho swerve and Cena there. I doubt Punk would have retained either way.
