Sort of an aside to the whole "Michael Bay soulraped my existence" comments.... Orson Welles, a far more acclaimed fimmaker than Bay, was of course involved with Transformers as well. In regards to his role in Transformers: The Movie, Welles stated "You know what I did this morning? I played the voice of a toy. I play a planet. I menace somebody called Something-or-other. Then I'm destroyed. My plan to destroy Whoever-it-is is thwarted and I tear myself apart on the screen." I've yet to hear anyone accuse Orson Welles of ass rape, despite the clear disdain he had for the artistic legacy and cultural viability of Transformers. Why does no one upbraid Welles in similar manner? Because Citizen Kane was better than The Island? I think there's a huge difference between taking a payday and not really caring about the source material...and taking a movie with a budget in the millions, and giving a gigantic robot a pair of metal balls just because you can.

And that is the difference. Orson Welles may have not cared about the source material and was merely taking a payday, but he just did what he was right and delivered a great and ominous performance to something he didnt care about. Michael Bay has the power to make the Transformers the main characters in THEIR OWN MOVIE and he adds crappy comedy characters who contribute nothing to the overall plot that take up most of the movie. That is why Orson Welles is a legend and that is why Michael Bay is a hack.

My biggest problems with this iteration of the Transformers movie franchise is how it completely contradicts important plot points from the previous movies. That drove me nuts.
Oh, that and how Michael Bay absolutely hates your disbelief. Seriously. It's not enough for us to suspend our disbelief, Bay also follows it home, knocks on the door, kicks it in the balls, pushes it to the ground, and steals its f***ing shoes.

It's not deleted scenes we need, it's massive edits.
Loads needs to be cut to make it tolerable.

Considering the summer blockbuster is all about renting seats and selling sugar, I am surprised at the length of Transformers. There is no reason for them to be longer than 2 hours.

Especially when a good chunk of the time is used for pointless s***. Cut 30 mins from DOTM and no one would miss a thing.

I hope I'm not the only one who thinks megan fox is hotter than this rosie girl? While I think they're both hot, I think I agree with you. But, that's mostly due to hair color; I typically prefer brunettes over blondes. Awesome. I'm looking forward to extra TF3 goodness.

Hm. Interesting. I like Jason Statham, but I'm not sure how much I'd like him being in a Transformers movie.

I'd prefer it if he replaced Duhamel, if he has to replace anyone at all. Shia is absolutely perfect as Sam, and Statham wouldn't fit that role at all. Unless, of course, the hypothetical sequel took place in the future, with Statham being a much older Sam and a new kid being Daniel.

I'd prefer we just moved onto Beast Wars already.
