Regardless of the winner, it is true, the SEC's winning streak in the National Championship will technically be over. By having both teams be SEC teams they guarantee that the SEC will both win AND lose the National Championship game. So technically speaking the streak will either end at 6 titles in a row and next year's winner(yes I'm already guessing the winner next year will be from the SEC, most likely SEC West) will be the start of a new streak or it'll end at 5 titles in a row with next year's winner being the second in a row. What? It makes sense because an SEC team has to lose this game.

10? I'm thinking a lot more than that, honestly. At least if Honey Badger comes anywhere close to repeating his SEC Championship performance. I can at least say this, this rematch isn't going to be as close as the first game. It will probably be a blow out in either direction. I'd be shocked if it's more than 2 possessions either way. Don't forget that the reason people that keep voting for Bama are (and no, it's not just because of the SEC!!!1!!!) is because they're the only team that slowed down LSU this season. Their defense didn't get worse. If LSU blows out that defense, they need to go down as one of the greatest college teams in modern history. They've had a season worthy of that consideration anyway. That would be a major cherry on top. I'm sorry, but I just cannot think this game will be another close contest. One of these two teams will be blown out. I'm just feeling it.

Did they not see Virginia Tech get humble old country style yesterday? VT doesn't deserve to be anywhere NEAR the BCS bowl games right now. Also, if they do in fact go this stupid route, well congrats Baylor instead of going from the Pinstripe Bowl all the way up to the Cotton Bowl, you'll have to settle for the Alamo Bowl.

He....kind of does make a point. At least in regards to Georgia. How the hell was Georgia ranked so high, and yet they had a resume not too unlike those of Houston and Southern Miss, teams whose schedules were being derided because they were "playing nobody". Georgia played almost nobody, and got rewarded for it with higher rankings.

Um.....what? The Alamo bowl is the Big 12's 3rd best bowl game, behind only the Fiesta Bowl(as the 1st) and the Cotton Bowl(as the 2nd). So Baylor got the better bowl, dude. Because since it appears that at least the Sugar Bowl committee came down with a case of the stupids, K-State will be going to the Cotton Bowl. Baylor got the bowl game that many predicted they would get if K-State didn't go BCS bowling.

I didn't know the Alamo Bowl switched in Big 12 totem pole bowl importance with the Holiday Bowl. Sure wasn't like until recently. My bad.

I'm hearing this Virginia Tech to Sugar Bowl thing could happen.
Forget the LSU-Bama rematch. THIS is something I don't get.

Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl would make me even angrier over what happened Southern Miss/Houston.
Lose one team with a soft schedule with no great wins, gain another?

Don't know why they would be. Both teams know this is a separate game from the first one and it isn't a series. If they win, they win. Granted I doubt it matters at all. I expected and still do expect LSU to roll whoever it is. Only now instead of beating OKST by 17 I think they'll beat Bama by 10. 10? I'm thinking a lot more than that, honestly. At least if Honey Badger comes anywhere close to repeating his SEC Championship performance. I can at least say this, this rematch isn't going to be as close as the first game. It will probably be a blow out in either direction. Being the first team to not win their conference yet win the National Title in a flawed system.........add to the fact the coach of Alabama said himself that you shouldnt be in the National Title game if you can't win your conference...... You're damn right Alabama would be the least deserving National Champion in history.

It seems to have originated on the internet and spread from there. So unless someone can produce an interview or story where Saban is actually quoted with that, I'm calling BS on it.

Yeah you beat me to it. They talked about that on TV a week or so ago. There's no print, text, video, audio, anything of Saban ever saying that.

Then I still stand by the first part of my quote.
Can't win conference.........gets placed in National Championship Game while more deserving teams are out there............
Yeah, Bama would still be the least deserving National Champion in history and if I were the AP, if Bama wins........I would put Oklahoma State as my champion to show the BCS that they did not determine the real National Champion.

Regardless of what else happens, its' not going to take away what a great season it was for me as an Ok. State fan. I'm not confident that either team can beat LSU at this point, but I don't really care. We had a great season, we'll get to go to a BCS bowl, we won the Big 12, and we have a chance to actually to be a contender in the future.
So yeah, NC or Fiesta, let everyone else get down about the drama, I'll take the wildly successful season any day.
