Bergman and I are actually figuring out a playoff scenario, and once we have the playoff set, we'll be having the 2011 FAN NCAA Football Bracket Challenge!!
Once we have the bracket set up, you can send me your bracket, all the way to the National Championship game. And the tiebreaker will be the final score of the National Championship.
Then, I will simulate the entire playoff bracket using NCAA 12.

How do you see the Sugar Bowl shaping out?
That's the only BCS game we can't clearly gauge the options available.

jppalm Sources tell me it's official: LSU-Alabama, the sequel. And thus, the BCS just provided the most damning evidence against its anti-playoff stance.

jppalm Sources tell me it's official: LSU-Alabama, the sequel. We all knew that was the likely scenario. Now, I'm just hoping that LSU blows them out this time so we don't have to hear of any "shared title" nonsense that you know would come. And hey, State will get a great Fiesta Bowl draw and destroy a team in their first BCS bowl.

Now I just want to see the ballots from the voters and how close the final margin was.

I'm just disturbed that to the voters what conference you play in can outweigh teams with better resumes.
From a resume standpoint, there is no doubt that OK State should be going to the National Championship over Alabama.
The problem is, OK State isn't in the SEC.
Really the ONLY cases you can make for Alabama are they had a "better" loss(losing to the #1 team as opposed to losing to a team that ended up 6-6), they had a close game(that they honestly should have won) against the #1 team, and that they are in the SEC.
Two of the three arguments you can make for Bama are only even viable because LSU was the #1 team in the country at the time LSU beat them.

jppalm Sources tell me it's official: LSU-Alabama, the sequel. Well, if this is true, it frees up my January 9th. Just for debate, if Alabama wins, will they be the least deserving champions of all-time?

@mattzemek_CFN If I'm a Michigan football fan, I am entirely OUTRAGED by today's events. Where was this 5 years ago? UM lost to OSU on the ROAD, not @ HOME

Because they would need the help of a mulligan to beat LSU. @mattzemek_CFN If I'm a Michigan football fan, I am entirely OUTRAGED by today's events. Where was this 5 years ago? It's a double standard because of the voter sentiment of "Alabama's 2nd best because we said so!"

Both teams know this is a separate game from the first one and it isn't a series. If they win, they win. Granted I doubt it matters at all. I expected and still do expect LSU to roll whoever it is. Only now instead of beating OKST by 17 I think they'll beat Bama by 10.

At least if Honey Badger comes anywhere close to repeating his SEC Championship performance. I can at least say this, this rematch isn't going to be as close as the first game. It will probably be a blow out in either direction.

I honestly think Alabama will win. I hate Nick Saban, but I imagine he'd be hard to beat twice in a season.

Don't forget that the reason people that keep voting for Bama are (and no, it's not just because of the SEC!!!1!!!) is because they're the only team that slowed down LSU this season. Their defense didn't get worse. If LSU blows out that defense, they need to go down as one of the greatest college teams in modern history. They've had a season worthy of that consideration anyway. That would be a major cherry on top.

They're no less deserving than if a wild-card team needed help to get into the playoffs in the NFL, then won the Super Bowl.
When the championship is decided by one game, the team that shows up and plays better that day is deserving. That's how the bowl system works.
