On the off chance Paul does get dealt to the Clippers (and I absolutely don't see it happening), would he even sign an extension there? I can't imagine LAC trading all these pieces for a rental, but I also can't imagine Paul wanting to stay there. Even with Blake Griffin by his side for years to come.

Jesus Christ, I think the Hornets want to make sure another trade doesn't get vetoed: Chris_Broussard Hornets asking for E Gordon, Kaman, Bledsoe, Aminu and 2 1st round picks, sources say. Jesus, they basically want every Clipper NOT named Blake Griffin.....

Dwight Howard said on Sunday that he demanded a trade from the Magic because the team didn't act on his personnel recommendations.
Ric Bucher said via Twitter on Sunday that if Chris Paul goes to the Clippers, Eric Gordon would likely have to be included for David Stern to OK the deal.
He also mentions Minnesota's first-round pick,

Dwight Howard said on Sunday that he demanded a trade from the Magic because the team didn't act on his personnel recommendations. One of his recommendations was to sign Glen Davis. They went ahead and signed him to a 4/$26M overpay while trading away a better player in the process. Howard still wants out. Nice piece of trolling.

Updating an earlier item, Lamar Odom is headed to Dallas along with the Lakers 2012 second round pick for Dallas' first round pick and an $8.9 million trade exception.

Brings more championship experience to the fold, gives us another athletic forward. We should've kept Chandler though as if him and Odom are on our squad I feel we repeat. Here's hoping Odom brings some more motivation to the squad though.

I've figured out the Mavs master plan. It all became clear after the Lamar Odom trade.
Now follow me here.
It's been known for awhile now that we want Deron Williams. Plus he's from here and has expressed a desire to play here before.
We haven't re-signed any of our major free agents and have angled ourselves into a spot where a lot of money comes off the books at the end of this season.
Williams has said that getting Dwight Howard would be enough to keep him with the Nets. Who else wants Dwight Howard? The Lakers.
Why would we go trade for Lamar Odom when our major needs are at center and 2 guard? Lamar Odom doesn't really fill one of our major needs, he's a nice player to have, but he wasn't someone we desperately needed. It looked like we basically were helping the Lakers dump salary by taking Odom and sending back a $8.9 million trade exception. Why would we want to help the Lakers clear cap room?
So they can acquire Dwight Howard, meaning he won't go to New Jersey, thus meaning Williams will leave the Nets in the offseason and fall right into our waiting arms of open cap space.
And there you have it. That's the master plan.

Showtime coming back to LA Also, the unprotected Minny 1st rounder that LA is trading is more valuable than anything the Rockets were sending to the Hornets. I say that as a Rockets fan. New Orleans would also get raw talent with big upside in Aminu and Bledsoe which will fit well with the aforementioned draft pick, as well as Kaman, who is on the same level of Scola imo. I think this is a better deal for them than what they were getting in the Rockets/Lakers deal - which was older and expensive main pieces to a team that didnt even make the playoffs last year, and a late 1st round pick that had a good chance of being nothing.
