The Clippers would send center Chris Kaman, guard Eric Bledsoe, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the No. 1 draft pick to get the All-Star point guard, in deal said to be in the closing stages of talks. www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-clippers-20111212,0,2925892.story f*** , f*** , f*** , f***!! YOU STERN...how the f*** are they keeping gordon? this trade is worse than what they were getting in the three way. Yeah. How this trade is fair but the other wasn't is head-scratching. I'd figure Gordon would have been mandatory for such a trade for the Clips.

I will not celebrate before it becomes official.

There are conflicting reports on the Paul trade. Broussard is saying Bledsoe isn't a part of the trade, but the LA Times are saying Bledsoe is a part of the trade.

J.J. Barea signs a 4 year/19 million dollar deal with the Timberwolves.
...yeah, because that makes sense for him.

Chris_Broussard Source insists LAC offering Gordon, Kaman, Aminu & Minny's pick for CP. LAC dont want Gordon's name reported in deal in case it don't happen. LAC don't want a LOdom situation on hands. Wants to extend Gordon if CP deal don't happen. NBA running deal for NO & wants Bledsoe added.

WojYahooNBA Dallas is trying to move Rudy Fernandez and Corey Brewer to create more cap space, league sources tell Y!
The Dallas fire sale continues.

Sooooo the owner of the New Jersey Nets (the one that isn't Jay-Z) just announced he's planning to run against Vladimir Putin as prime minister of Russia.
I'm not sure what NBA rules are concerning political leaders owning teams, but imagine being a Nets fan and saying your owner is also the Prime Minister of Russia?

I don't want to get into (Russian) politics here, but Prokhorov is only running with a deal in place to make sure Putin gets re-elected. I don't know why that needs to happen, but what do I know about Russia?
Also - Jordan and the Bobcats want to bid on Billups. Part of me thinks it's a bad idea, and the other part of me thinks it's awesome. I'm all for keeping him off of the Heat.

I'd love to move Rudy Fernandez.
Don't want him here, didn't want him here when we traded for him at the draft, and sure as hell don't want him here at the expense of DeShawn Stevenson, who is a much better player and fit for this team.
Not to mention that it's common knowledge that he has a lucrative deal already signed in Spain that starts as soon as this season ends.
Rudy Fernandez can f*** off.

Is the NBA and the owners so hellbent on CP3 being a Hornet, realizing the team is trying to unload him and get SOMETHING IN RETURN?!
If they lose him to free agency and end up with nothing, I hope Dan Gilbert's proud of himself.

sportsguy33 Bill Simmons Just got word the Clips/CP3 trade is definitely off. Can only be revived if NBA bends on its super-steep asking price. This is I-N-S-A-N-E.

Ok at this point I think it is obvious the NBA wants to contract the Hornets. That's the ONLY reason I can see for them refusing these awesome trades, and are basically going to let CP3 waltz into Madison Square Garden in the summer.
If I was one of the few Hornets fans left in New Orleans, I'd be fuming right now.

According to the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn, the Boston Celtics have re-signed forward Sasha Pavlovic, and I have died a little inside merely reading that news.

The 3 team deal with the Lakers and Rockets didn't really give New Orleans much. Scola is a fine player but aging, and Kevin Martin's value has really taken a hit. Atleast with the Clippers, they do get a solid center in Kaman and two potentially good young center pieces in Aminu and Bledsoe

Atleast with the Clippers, they do get a solid center in Kaman and two potentially good young center pieces in Aminu and Bledsoe I think if you really read into the league's "Keep Paul in New Orleans by any means necessary" mandate, it becomes more obvious that they are doing everything they can to keep Paul in the Bayou, because they need to make the team as attractive as possible to potential buyers. What billionaire is going to throw upwards of $300 million at the New Orleans franchise if the starting five consists of Goran Dragic, Kevin Martin, Lamar Odom, Luis Scola and Emeka Okafor, playing 33 games in front of less than 5,000 fans? By keeping Chris Paul with the Hornets, the team might not be any better than they would have been had the trade gone through, but at least they're more attractive to interested potential owners, they're still drawing better crowds at the New Orleans Arena, and they still have that one elite player they can market and build the franchise around, even if for only one more year.

The NBA is being run by an idiot. This Chris Paul business is absolutely ridiculous. Are they trying to kill the Hornets off? They obviously don't want this team to succeed.
