Heh, so LeBron James admitted he was heeling it up last year because of the negative fan reaction since The Decision. He didn't really like the role, so he swears he's going to be a "good guy" again.

He was a lot of fun to root against as a villain. His speech after losing in the NBA finals was priceless.
I still want him to guest host a RAW in Cleveland and totally heel it up.

Ha, yeah, I actually heard about that yesterday which is why I mentioned his name just now. They're also keeping Jeff Green after he signed his $5.8M qualifying offer. Unfortunately the Boston Herald now says the West deal is dead (it's hidden in the Daniels story) despite the fact that ESPN/Yahoo still say it's close to done. Looks like they'll revisit the deal today and try to get it done. Maybe I'm missing something when it comes to Green...but honestly I don't think he's good enough. I don't like Green that much either. He's inconsistent on both ends of the floor and a terrible rebounder. That said, it is only a one year deal and he's still a potential trade chip. He's also not a virgin to Doc's system anymore, and with all the depth at PF, he won't be asked to play out of position. There's definitely room for improvement.

He needs a face move, like putting glasses on a youngster at courtside. Or pull a Cena and tell everyone he still respects people who boo him because they have passion.

ESPN's Marc Stein and Chris Broussard are reporting that the three team trade that would send Paul to LA has been resubmitted to the league for approval. Details about the trade itself aren't known yet.

Watch, it'll have one more draft pick going to New Orleans and Stern will justify approving it over that. He got castrated publicly and he's changing his mind.

Some other NBA news, per Rotoworld.
Rip Hamilton and the Bulls are "closing in" on a two-year contract agreement, according to Vincent Goodwill.
The Nuggets have offered Luc Richard Mbah a Moute a four-year, $19 million contract which the Bucks are not expected to match.
The Heat have officially signed Eddy Curry.

If the CP3/Howard to LA deal gets done I'm just gonna say f*** the NBA for the foreseeable future... Getting tired of all of this "super team" bulls***.... I honestly think the fans are tired of the superteams too. They want to see something different for a change. From my perspective, it just seems to me they want teams like the Lakers, Knicks, and Heat to be on top while the smaller market/less popular teams get the shaft. We need an old school mentality back in the NBA. It's time for David Stern to step down, someone who actually respects and understands basketball needs to be in his place. Players today do not have a sense of loyalty and are too soft. I understand it's all about wanting to win a championship and wanting to be on a top that is able to do so, so in that retrospect, I don't have a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is the league and players wanting to create superteams because said player can't win where they are. Can you imagine if Jordan, Bird, Magic, or Isiah were on the same team in the NBA? Those players wanted to beat each other and prove they were the best. Now if a player loses to a particular team they just say "screw it, I want to join that team" or ride someone elses coattails.

At least you guys in Dallas won a championship recently. The Knicks last won a championship in 1973 and haven't been relevant since 1999 until recently.
Sucks for the other teams, but I, for one, am thrilled that my team will finally be something besides painfully mediocre for once.
Also those players you listed weren't great by themselves. Isiah Thomas had Joe Dumars to create one of the deadliest backcourts ever. Magic, Bird, and Jordan also had HoF-quality talents surrounding them, too.
The closest I can think of a team be carried to greatness by a single player was LeBron James and the Cavs.

And I understand that some individuals may not like super teams, just like you'll never get anything unanimous in life. But you can't look at the numbers the NBA did last year and make a case that what Boston, Miami, and New York have done over the last few years has done anything to hurt the NBA. If that changes in the next couple of years then you'll have a case.

Now if a player loses to a particular team they just say "screw it, I want to join that team" or ride someone elses coattails. Those players were fortunate, they didn't have to leave to find a better team, the better team was built while they were there. None of them did it all on their own. But yeah, players today don't have that sense of loyalty, unlike those oldschool players of the past, like Wilt Chamberlain, who forced a trade from Philly to the Lakers in the 60's. Or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who wanted Minnesota to trade him to either the Knicks or the Lakers and got it. Or Karl Malone and Gary Payton, who created the first superteam in LA to try to make a title run, which failed. This loyalty argument is played out. It's never been that way, and there's good reason. Players aren't loyal because owners aren't loyal and fans aren't loyal. They all want to win, that never changed. Oscar Robertson was traded by ownership reportedly because coach Bob Cousy was jealous of the attention he was getting. Scottie Pippen was rumored to be a part of a trade for Shawn Kemp, which angered him. And let's not forget Dominique Wilkins, whose loyalty to Atlanta was rewarded when he was traded to the Clippers for Danny Manning. It's time to kill this notion that players and teams were all loyal in the past. If owners or players believe they've got better options elsewhere, they'll make that trade. It was that way in the 60's, it was that way in the 70's, it was that way in the 80's, and it was that way in the 90's. It's revisionism to argue that it wasn't that way.

WojYahooNBA For teams considering claim on Chauncey Billups, he tells Y!: "A leader can be as disruptive as he can be productive..This is about me now." Billups: "People take my kindness and professionalism for weakness. They think I’ll be OK with (getting claimed). I won’t be OK with this."
He's too damn old to be that childish about getting released.

He has been put out quite a lot as of late.

I'll admit I only really saw their playoff series against the Pacers, but I'm sorry, there's one else on that team that's All-Star material. Rose carried the Bulls on his back. In other news Jermaine O'Neal says he'll either be play for Celtics, another contender, or he'll retire. Guess that rules him out of that sign and trade with NO for West.
