Superstar Saga needs some more love. If just for the line of
"Hah! Now taste the finale, when carelessness opens the door to a comeback not expected by you! Your lives that I spit on are now but a caricature of a cartoon drawn by a kid who is stupid! You shall all fall and vanish with your precious Beanbean Kingdom as I laugh heartily at you!"

Reminds me, I've been wanting to pick up another copy of Superstar Saga. Mine's long lost, but when it failed to show up as one of the ambassador games it got me interested in buying it.

Fawful is easily the best thing about Superstar Saga. He is indeed the mustard of your doom.

Fawful is easily the best thing about Superstar Saga. He is indeed the mustard of your doom. Probably why they decided to make him the main villain of "Inside Story". Also, am I sick in the head for wanting a massive strategy, Ogre Battle style Mario game, using as many of the RPG characters as possible?

I honestly can't decide. They're all awesome. Well, maybe not quite. I haven't played Partners In Time, so I wouldn't know about that one. I can't find that one myself either. I love the M&L games though, but SMRPG is probably one of my all-time favorite games. Paper Mario's good in my book too though.

Say Partners in Time might be the weakest. Still good, but the babies don't do much to add to the game's system - hell, they basically render hammers useless - and some other things, like making special moves be done through items, are just awkward. Hell, the special move thing if anything mostly makes them all the more exploitable. Then there's the fact that the game's big twist is really obvious.

Good God, is there any reason SMRPG is winning by such a large margin besides nostalgia?
Frankly I vote PM because its more "Mario", it carried the spirit of the franchise far better than SMRPG.

While SM:RPG will always have a special place in my heart i was actually blown away by Super Paper Mario, Although the first 15 minutes is reading text i was especially impressed with the 3D aspect of it!

It could be nostalgia, or it could just be the fact that it's genuinely a better RPG. But it's not like people can't feel nostalgic for Paper Mario. Personally, Super Mario RPG is my favorite game of all time. Not just because I have a lot of nostalgic love for the game or because it got me into RPG's, but it's just so damn lovable.

I think it's amusing how many secrets there are in the game that are just so incredibly obscure. For example, who the hell would play that Look Away game 100+ times and receive the Star Egg on accident, assuming they even knew where Grate Guy's casino is? Or that stretch of thin air you have to walk on to get the Fertilizer in order to procure the Lazy Shells? And then there's the fact that you can overpower the Jump attack into the most deadly move in the game for 3 FP.

Actually, that's one's not that bad, as it is a simple timed hit on a spell. Most spells have them unless they have a different mechanic to them, like rotating the control pad or charging the attack. Now, the fact that you can use it on Exor is an obscure bug.
