What are some books, comics, TV show or even older movies that need to be made into movies/remade for a new gneration? Here are a few that I think would have good sucess if made now: Sandokan Italian adventure stories from 100+ years ago. Based in the South China sea and southern Asia. Kind of the prototype for Captain Jack Sparrow, but more bad ass. Not just a pirate but all arround adventure story. Was made into a TV series and Cartoon in the 70s and early 80s, but relatively unknown in the United States. So it would seem fresh, and help boost intrest in the old books. Galveston (comic) Its Jim Bowie and Jean Lafitte having an adventure together in no mans land between the US and New Spain (Technically it is New Spain but Texas was really no man's land). Pirate + American Folk Legend/Knife fighter. Historical fiction with humor and action. It was a middle of the road comic, but on the big screen it does have good potential as a popcorn movie. What other things out there do yall think will make good movies?

- "Puffed" (comic). A teen gets a job at an amusement park to get close to a girl he likes. A rival for her love sabotages his car and uniform and the teen has to cross town at night... trapped in a giant pink dragon costume. - "We3" (comic). I know it's been in development for a while, but when is it going to get finished. - "Naked Came The Stranger". Read up on it and you'll know why...

- "Naked Came The Stranger". Read up on it and you'll know why... According to Wikipedia they already made a film based on it. As for me, I wish that one of the upcoming Star Wars series were based on the X-Wing novels. I'll accept live action if you must, but animated would probably work a lot better.

Batman Beyond needs to be translated to live action. There haven't been enough good futuristic sci-fi action films lately.

Someone needs to do a full movie of L'Incal, the closest it's gotten to on film is with the Fifth Element and that's just because they straight up copied things from it

Fatal Fury (and/or King of Fighters; no, I'm not counting that movie as "King of Fighters"), and perhaps Black Lagoon.

I'd like to see a second film adaption of Something Wicked This Way Comes. Preferably from PIXAR.
Also if anything needs to come out of development hell, it's Metroid.

"Montana 1948" by Larry Watson should be adapted into film. It was one of the few books I was forced to read at school that I actually liked.

I've suggested this before in a similar thread: the "Timeline-191/Southern Victory" alternate history saga, by Harry Turtledove, based on the novels "How Few Remain," the "Great War" trilogy, the "American Empire" trilogy, and the "Settling Accounts" tetralogy.
It's an alternate history story where the Confederate States win the American Civil War and gain their independence, thus dividing North America between two hostile American powers. The first book depicts a second war between the USA and CSA in the early 1880's, and the rest of the saga shows an alternate World War I, interbellum period, and World War II, all with hellish war being fought on the American continent just as in Europe.
I think "How Few Remain" would be good for a made-for-TV movie, while the rest of the saga could be made into a major series on HBO. It would be awesome to see the story brought to life. I'd especially be interested in who they get to play the saga's Hitler equivalent.

I think Ultimate Spider-Man, Invincible, and a modernized version of the original G.I. Joe comics would all make great tv shows.

Are they ever going to finally get the Mila 18 produced? That seems like it has been in development hell for half of my life.

I think a film adaptation of Magnus Robot Fighter would do well as an action film.

Fatal Fury (and/or King of Fighters; no, I'm not counting that movie as "King of Fighters"), and perhaps Black Lagoon. There's three Fatal Fury animated movies made in the 90's. They're of varying quality, but pretty good compared to most video game movies.

Batman Beyond needs to be translated to live action. There haven't been enough good futuristic sci-fi action films lately. Schway. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing a Hellsing live action movie. But I know about 75% of the source material would have to be removed to prevent certain groups of people from throwing the PC flag. So on 2nd thought, maybe a live action isn't such a good idea.
