Charlie Brown asks the Little Red-Haired Girl to come to the New Years Eve party and he waits all night for her to show up. he goes out on the back porch to read War and Peace for his book report and falls asleep out there. the Little Red Haired Girl finally shows up. Linus says he doesn't know where Charlie Brown is and instead of looking for his friend he asks the girl to dance. she had barely even gotten in the door! at least look for your friend, you dick! there were maybe 4 rooms in that entire house.

I hated Peanuts. It's really just a story of Charlie Brown's eternal damnation, his never ending destruction of his hope and dreams while the Universe itself contorts around itself simply to mock him.

OOT, but "The Eternal Damnation Of Charlie Brown" sounds like an awesome name for a work, song's name, album, story; it's a really good title for something.

I did make a story once where Charlie Brown was in the original Wicker Man. I wish I still had it.

I kinda always felt it a weird choice of instruments of an electric guitar and an upright bass to have included at a nativity play (piano I can see, but the other 2 seems out of place). I'm probably the worst dancer ever, but it is a lot of laughs to watch. "It was like watching a dry heave in slow motion!"

Remember the one special, where they go all over, finding this girl Charlie Brown fell in love with while watching the Super Bowl? They go to random girl's houses, but Linus does the talking since Charlie Brown is too shy? Then, the last house, it's the girl he saw on TV, but Linus basically cock-blocks him because she had a security blanket too?
Yeah, Linus is a dick.

Yeah, but it's Charlie Brown. No way he's ever gonna get close, so why waste time and remove him from the equation?

Poor Charlie Brown. Too bad I can relate to him on some level, but who can't? At least Linus did tell him about the Reason for the season.

Linus is an odd one... smart and wise but alas never to get out from under the shadow of his mean big sister. I still think the coolest visual out there is when he gets his blanket back from Charlie Brown (who Linus loaned to Charlie Brown for "Good luck") and Linus dances with his blanket (as in the blanket is animated to dance with him!) Anyone who finds that video for me get +150 internets. oh, and because I had it handy....

On a semi related note, why isn't "Race for your life, Charlie Brown" on DVD yet? Come on, along with Meatballs and National Lampoon's: Vacation it should be quintessential summer viewing.

What I'd like to know is... was Charlie Brown the only one who HAD to read War and Peace? You'd think everybody else would be assigned that book as well, but it did 47 years for Brown to finally taste success.
