Slik, that's what you seemed to expect out of this, so you go your wish. Let me ask you this - what exactly were you expecting? The only thing we did on the board is make two teasers - one said "a change is coming" and another that said "a new era begins" - both of these are absolutely valid in what is going on. I'm sorry you feel so selfish in all of this that you can't seem to grasp that this IS a big change for the boards, in many aspects. I'm sorry you can't seem to grasp that the changes are only starting and part of an ongoing thing that will - HAS - to take time. I'm also very sorry now that I've kept giving you so much leeway over the years on here. I hate starting things off with this, but I think it's best - since you couldn't step away as I asked earlier and you're still going with the same gripe you've had in every post you've made on here in this thread - that I help you step away from the boards for a couple of days. Sorry, but I'm not dealing with you anymore tonight. I think it is ridiculous and childish that you banned him for having an alternate opinion and stating it justly...He didn't come in here insulting people or wish failure on the website. God forbid someone else have an opinion on here. You know what's childish? The fact that at least four different people explained what was going on to him and he continued to moan about the same things over and over. Like because things didn't go the way that HE thought they should, then the mods didn't know what they were doing. He wasn't listening, all he was doing was trolling. And slapping on a "Oh but I wish you luck!" after being condescending doesn't cut it either. He deserved to be banned for a few days to pull his head from a dark, warm place. Now can we get past this already and stop bringing down the good times with sourpuss stuff? Not calling you a sourpuss Slick, just the over negativity stopped once he was gone. So let's keep it on that path. Please? |

Again, we'll be setting up some links and such in the next couple of weeks inviting submissions for new articles and writers, but that's still a good few days away. It won't be a free-for-all type thing where anyone can go and post whatever, we're going to look at subs, choose which ones work best for the direction of the site and go from there. As far as the "new" rules here on the board, those should be going into effect in the next day or so. They really aren't new per se, just streamlined and adjusted a bit to better match the new direction. |

Fair enough. We contemplated a good number of names (even went with something completely different at first), but we began to realize too many of the things we were coming up with were too in-jokey, self-referential and such. Too much emphasis on, say, the wrestling aspect, than the entirety of the concept. I hit upon the idea of having "Nation" or "Network" in the title and when we came up with the idea of making sure the word "Fan" - the word I felt best summed up everything we're doing - was somehow included, it evolved into making Fan an acronym for something else. Even then, we went through a couple dozen variations before this one. Anyway, just a little backstory of the why's and how's there. Hope you enjoy the site regardless. |

No more comments for articles? That's a shame I just noticed this too. The name is causing quite a stir here. I'm surprised by the people who are so anti it. I think it grows on you, at first I was a bit meh, but seeing the site and all I think it's not bad at all. I like the fact it's not all in-jokey and trying to be too clever. Simple and bold. Also nice to know us contributors aren't void of creativity! Just to share with you all, my wife looked at the site this morning, and browsed the headlines. She saw my article and read the title aloud, in the tone of "What sort of freak would write this??" then asked which one I'd written, unaware of the hilarity. |

I'm very excited about the website and the evolution ( pun intended ) of our forum. We crafted our own identity here. It's nice to showcase our silliness! @citten/Anyone else with concern with Wrestling's presence: Wrestling is the reason we all came together in the first place. Believe you me the gang knows this. Regardless of what incarnation of the forum we may wind up on in the years to come wrestling will always be apart of us. No need to worry.  |
