It will be hilarious if he drops it to Cena at Survivor Series since it'll be one of the biggest half-assed story builds since Cena took the WHC off Jericho.
I don't think it'll happen, but I can see how they might want to get Cena's 11th reign over with since it's one of those numbers that isn't very impressive to look at.

Was not Hogan's second reign 364 days (WM 5 on April 2, 1989 to WM 6 on April 1, 1990)? It's going to be irrelevant in a week, but was surprised that was not included on the list of length reigns. It is now. Just missed it. And that will be surpassed in 5 days, possibly.

Kinda fitting if he loses it exactly a year after he won it.

Well, tonight is the night.
CM Punk ties Hogan's 364 day reign. If he retains, he passes Hogan along with being a 1 year champion.
Will he do it?
To be determined....

To add, if he makes it to TLC as the champ, one month after tonight, he'll beat Cena and replace him as the fifth longest reigning champion, with everyone ahead of him having held the title for multiple years.

I still believe he'll get to WM29, which would take him over 500 days. No reason for Rock to beat him. Punk beats Rock, goes into WM29 taking on a hungry Rumble-winning Ryback and the torch is passed.

Well Punker, it's been a .... run but time to give it back to Cena so they can build Cena/Rock II and get you ready to win the Rumble.

If it is indeed coming to an end tonight, here is his PPV title defenses:
Def. Del Rio at Survivor Series to win the WWE Championship
Def. Del Rio and Miz at TLC to retain Main Event
Def. Ziggler at Royal Rumble to retain
Def. The Miz, Jericho, Kingston, R-Truth and Ziggler at Elimination Chamber to retain
Def. Jericho at Wrestlemania XXVIII to retain
Def. Jericho at Extreme Rules to retain
Def. Bryan at Over The Limit to retain
Def. Bryan and Kane at No Way Out to retain
Def. Bryan at Money in the Bank to retain
Def. Big Show and Cena at Summerslam to retain Main Event
Def. Cena at Night of Champions to retain Main Event
Def. Ryback at Hell in a Cell to retain Main Event
So 4 main events in 12 months, but at least the last three PPV's were main events.

I really don't like Punk's run as a heel -- it reeks of the forced Austin turn to an audience that wants to cheer him. That said, I'm still enjoying his run
I still think he's dropping it at Mania to whoever wins the Rumble. Right now that looks like it'll be Ryback, but I don't think he's ready yet. If not Ryback I think it'll be Kofi assuming they want a person who hasn't won the WWE Championship to win the belt.

I can't see him having this long run then just dropping it to Cena at the end, and Ryback isn't winning. I'd say Punk retains through the Royal Rumble, and there it gets interesting but I think Rock will take the belt from him.

What are you guys talking about anyway, he's only held the title 363 days today, in 4 hours it's his 364th day

And with one pin-fall on John Cena it's confirmed. CM Punk goes ONE FULL YEAR with the WWE Title.
Wow.
Here's to another one!

Said it before and I'll say it again, in this day and age no title reign should last a year. Things should never, ever be that stagnant when you're putting out 104 episodes of your main shows a year, and have like five side ones.
