Said it before and I'll say it again, in this day and age no title reign should last a year. Things should never, ever be that stagnant when you're putting out 104 episodes of your main shows a year, and have like five side ones. Kinda have to agree here. I grew bored with Punk as champion back in the summer, and been growing more and more bored ever since. But hey, Ambrose and Rollins, eh? That should keep me interested for few weeks...

Dude apparently you don't watch anyway and everyone else seems to be enjoying it so why do you care? Punk's title reign is the main reason I stopped watching, and whenever he loses it I'm going to at least watch the night afterward.

This is the 4th PPV in a row a year long champion wasn't able to win clean on his own.
We had tonight's run in stealing the pin on Cena, last time time was Brad Maddox, then the double pin and before that a replay of tonight minus the run in where he took yet another pin on Cena in a Triple Threat match. The PPV before than was build around a love triangle with AJ as ref in the middle of the card and before that yet another Triple Threat match.
It was anyone else other than Punk booked this way people would be calling this run an epic fail.

Punk to lose before he reaches Cena's record.

So assuming he'll hold the belt up to TLC, he'll be surpassing both Savage's and Cena's longest reigns.
That's pretty astounding. I'd never have expected him to hold it this long.

And before that, you have a match where he won despite tapping out which is all well and good except for the fact that at the time Bryan's gimmick was basically, "He lost in eighteen seconds!". Then before that was Jericho for a couple of months, who hasn't been an actual threat in years, then an Elimination Chamber which is fine, a complete squash match on Ziggler that was built around an authority figure Punk basically had no meaningful interaction with after that, and a TLC match where again, no complaints. This reign has sucked, it's just that it's Punk so that's being ignored.

The Libra that I am sees it as a balance for putting up with all the title changes we had the year before: -Start With Miz -Go To Cena -Go To Punk -Side reign of Mysterio as Punk holds it. -Side reign of Cena same night -Del Rio -Cena -Del Rio -Punk Yeah, no moreof that is good in my eyes.

Not an epic fail, an epic heel. Except what he's doing isn't hellish, he's been booked extremely weak and that's why nobody but the IWC cares about him.

Says more about the state of WWE than it does about Phil Brooks. I'm sure you guys all think he's one of the all time greats though.

Punk will also be the longest reigning WWE champion in the 24 years...there's no way he's passing Hogan, brother!
That said, I'm happy to see someone hold the belt this long. And even though I've been iffy on his reign, I still pull for him, simply because I doubt this is something we're going to see in the future in any way. However, I'll say this...after he loses, I hope he doesn't win it back. There's too many people nowadays who win the title 5 or 6 times and it's just meaningless to do so. This is more of an accomplishment than getting the title 15 times, or whatever. Punk can easily live off this accomplishment for the rest of his career, the same way Jericho did with the Undisputed title.

This reign has sucked, it's just that it's Punk so that's being ignored. If this was Miz, Cena, Orton, Del Rio or anyone else people whould be calling for their heads. The most credible thing in the run was beating Jericho and he's been a jobber to the starts for 2 or 3 years even losing to Evan Bourne on PPV, that with the love triangle getting pinned on raw often then Turing heel and can't even win a match clean on PPV. If I was Rock I would be pissed I would want Punk looking strong but now when Rock wins it will be Punks luck just ran out rather than he beat a strong heel champion.

now think about this: if they didn't have Del Rio hold the belt for a bit Punk would be in the 400+ range

You're acting like we aren't going to find out Heyman and Punk were behind all these shenanigans all along. We may in time but its all about first impressions, in all these matches Punk comes off as not a heel but a weak undeserving champion. A money heel is one who you want to pay see get his ass kick not one who gets his ass kicked all the time but leaves with the belt.
