It's only in the first week. If it doubles that over the course of it' entire run, it'll probably be fine. Even if it makes half of what it did this week next week it should be a barely modest success. It's not out in the UK yet, I'll bet it gets somthing there. I hope Movie 43 doesn't make it's money back, Everyone involved in that needs to be slapped

Yikes, way to go Warm Bodies, the little movie no one expected to do anything.

I'm more shocked at Argo. Jumps 3 spots, gains 23% change in revenue from last week, added 470 theaters to it's count, and the movie comes out on home media NEXT Tuesday (with digital outlets already carrying it).
That's crazy.

1.) A Good Day to Die Hard - $25M ($33.2M since opening Thur.) 2.) Identity Thief - $23.7M ($70.7M in 2 weeks off a $35M budget, looks to be a hit) 3.) Safe Haven - $21.4M ($30.2M since opening Thur.) 4.) Escape From Planet Earth - $16.1M 5.) Warm Bodies - $9M ($50M in 3 weeks, probably a hit) 6.) Beautiful Creatures - $7.4M ($10M since opening Thur.)
Welp, looks like people understood that the new Die Hard was a turd, as it's probably going to do about 40% less than expected. Still the best out of the "80's action revival trilogy" from this winter, but not by much.
I say awesome.

This is the first time in a while that I can say that the top 4 movies in the box office look anywhere from mediocre(Die Hard) to complete s***(Warm Bodies and Beautiful Creatures)

Actually, Bruce Willy Five should out gross Last Stand and Bullet to the Head combined by the end of the weekend.

I saw it Friday, hoped it would be an overacting fest/so bad it's good thing. Turned out to just be really weird. Emmy Rossum has sex with a guy on top of live alligators... this movie seemed like it was directed by David Lynch.

I really want to plop down $10 JUST to see that happen, but it's probably NOT going to be what I expect just from reading that.

I thought "Beautiful Creatures" was pretty good, Granted I haven't read the Book (And I don't plan to) but I enjoyed it all the same (Shame it's ending wussied out)
"A Good day to Die Hard" on the other hand was SHIT!!!!!!

Beautiful Creatures was alright. Not great, but nowhere near as bad as Twilight.

Bad domestic total and decent overseas box office for Good Day To Die Hard means that Die Hard 6 will be in China. Where McClane is stuck always gets bigger and there's more people in China than Russia and it's now the place to gain a bigger overseas box office.

Sites are calling Jack WB's answer to Disney's John Carter in terms of how much they're going to lose on this one.

But if Red Dawn has shown us anything, China is using this newfound box office power to propagandize whatever they want.

Not surprised to hear about Jack The Giant Slayer bombing. It's not a concept that inspires a lot of confidence for a movie.
