Or actress, if you're into the whole gender specific thing. Her facial expressions don't come off as fake at all, you actually believe she is having manic mood swings. And the skipping and kisses and all are perfect. And those puppy dog eyes...For years WWE has tried to pull off storylines like this with people who couldn't act or emote to save their lives like Lita and Kelly Kelly (who has exactly one expression besides happy: dull surprise). I think AJ deserves major props.  |

As far as wrestlers go, and especially Divas, she's one of the best "actors" I've seen. Any other Diva in this role would've been terrible, but AJ can make it work.

As an actor in general she isn't so good, but as an actor in wrestling she is absolutely great.
She's absolutely nailing this character.

I don't think she comes across geunine in any expression or action she makes. She just seems forced.
She's better than kelly but I think laycool was better and eve is better.

I don't think her manics mood swings expressions are any good, but that may be due to knowing a few folks with manic depression and being similar myself etc, just comes off as cliche stage interpretation stuff from the 80s.
HOWEVER in the wrestling World that is pretty damn good, it's not progressive acting for the sake of making people think better of mental illness, it's putting across how she's crackers! She's doing well in the ring with it, and despite it making me think 'bit try hard' at times she's generally nailing it. As someone else said already if any other diva was doing it it'd probably be a massive fail and I say this as someone who isn't an AJ fan.
In regards to Eve being a great performer her actual acting is pretty good just for how she doesn't need to do over-exaggerated things to get her character across anymore.
Props to both of them.

laycool was better and eve is better. Heel eve gets more of a reaction than AJ typically gets. Plus laycool were so good at playing high school bitches that everybody hates them to this day. It's not that much of an absurd opinion. |

I think she is in a perfect role for herself and I have to give booking some credit here. She is doing well, but the role was kind of made for her. If anything her acting has been kind of akward, however that works great in this situation.

Well you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but that's my reaction to that. In my opinion Eve has been dreadful since becoming Johnny's assistant...and I always thought she had potential in the acting department. She emphasises the wrong words and just generally comes off as wooden (and the Hoski reactions aren't really thanks to her performances). And you mentioned AJ being forced when Michelle's acting was pretty much the definition of that, although Layla aced it week in week out. I just think AJ blows those two out of the water. |

Yeah she's doing well by wrestling standards.
I think she needs to work on her improvisational skills a bit as she acts like the crowd isn't there at times but that's hardly unique to her.
The camera focusing on her pulling a daft face for too long doesn't help either, one or two seconds in natural; five to ten is just weird.

Even if they were,everytime the bryan aj story called for the crowd to really feel sorry for her nobody seemed to. Also I think a diva does get reactions. Kelly Kelly. Crowds love her. I even think eve gets a bit of a reaction. I'm not even trying to single her out,it's just the topics about her and I don't think she particularly has alot of talent or popularity. Maybe this wacky kane storyline will prove me wrong. AJ was in a gimmick in which she was supposed to be an abused girlfriend and the crowd facepopped when said abusive dick told her to shut up. Randy Savage was more over than anybody on the roster today except when Rock shows up every now and then in between his filmings of escape to witch mountain 5:mission to moscow. He was able to get people to boo him not being nice to a woman doing basically the same things. She just didnt evoke sympathy from a crowd. |

It bugs me that they're playing up her youthful looks. Just a few months ago she was strong and independent and now they're an inch close to selling her like they used to sell Hornswoggle: they're dwarves, so they're like kids!
