It would be a good way to get epic heat for Henry and, motivate Bryan enough to kick the crap out of Henry. I've gotta say, I've loved this feud. It's how an underdog story should be done, not Rey Mysterio getting a string of wins over a giant heel/stable whilst the commentators bleet on about him been an underdog. I think it's a combination of Henry being given the time to be an unstoppable monster and Daniel Bryan being an unproven competitor who has potential. I like it too.

That actually sounds like a really good idea. The thing is that this needs to be shown as something so taboo in the WWE to really be good. They need other wrestlers shunning mark in the back, skits of Bryan visiting AJ in the hospital (or something along those lines).
In other words, this needs to seem like a huge deal. Yes, we all know that its happened before and in more graphic ways, but right now it would be incredibly edgy for the WWE to do and really hype this feud to a new level.
Also, it would help the fans to get more behind Bryan and against Mark, who they seem to be cheering for lately.

Daniel Bryan finally triumphs over Mark Henry, winning the World Heavyweight Title by "slaying the dragon."
During his in-ring celebration, a courier comes from the back and hands a box to the new champion while whispering something to him, inaudible to the crowd. Puzzled, he halts his celebration and frantically opens the box. As he finally opens it and his face contorts in horror, Mark Henry charges him from behind and knocks him down. The box falls, and out rolls AJ's severed head. Daniel Bryan starts to push himself up, but looks at the severed head and cries in emotional agony as he reaches for it. Mark Henry, chuckling, cooly walks over and kicks the head a few feet out of reach of Bryan. Then, he drops onto the "victor" and pulls off his tights and begins to have sex with him, using his immense strength to keep him down.
Several Superstars and officials run down to assist, led by John Cena, who is the first in the ring. However, having snapped at being booed despite trying to save a man being raped, pulls a gun out of his pants and fires at the nearest guy, killing CM Punk. He then fires into the air and declares that the next guy to make a move against this get's "shot in the f***ing head."
Suddenly, the lights go out, and the countdown begins on the titantron.
5...
4...
3...
2...
...
...
It never reaches 1.
The tron explodes with fire as Kane bursts through, now a fire demon. He swoops around the arena and turns the fans into a lake of lava.
Back in the ring, Daniel Bryan is passed out, and Mark Henry stands up, satisfied with his revenge. He then reaches down and rips out Daniel Bryan's spine, proudly waving it around as though he was waving a baton.
Finally, Kane lands in the ring, and both he and Mark Henry kneel around Bryan's body. Cena shrugs, saunters over, and kneels as well, now making a semicircle around him.
Now, all heat save for Kane's undying flames fade from the arena. The superstars that were held at bay by Cena's gun now fall to their knees, not out of reverence, but out of pain. From out of Daniel Bryan's back (where his spine was ripped) a man emerges, head, shoulders, then the rest of him. Although covered in a swirling shadow, a grin can be seen through it. Those who can manage to look up are rendered insane at the sight as the shadow recedes from his face. All those who didn't look up know that the end is here, those who died were lucky.
Mr McMahon has returned.

That sounds like something they'd book in Mirror Universe CHIKARA...
As for the OP? No, AJ getting with Bryan just so Henry can get more heat for putting her through the mat, spurning Bryan on to strengthen his emotional resolve to beat Henry. That sounds like some lazy-ass comicbook writing to me.
I'd rather they not do it, but this is the WWE. I fully expect them to have Henry put AJ in the hospital.

I'm pretty sure Henry is done with Bryan. The two faced off with the odds stacked heavily against the champ, and Mark still won decisively. He doesn't need to destroy AJ to get in the guy's head or punish him.

Is it messed up that I, as a woman, really miss the era of women randomly getting finishers? Is it more messed up that I feel like maybe one of the most effective segments ever was the complete destruction of Team Xtreme by the Two Man powertrip? No. Particularly on the second point. If it is used to further a story or make a point I don't see the problem with it, personally. As you said, the segment with Team Xtreme and the Two Man Powertrip made Triple-H and Austin look like pure evil and really sold the audience on the type of people they are. It was hard to watch but it did it's job.

You guys really think AJ taking a Worlds Strongest Slam would result in some kind of media uproar? No one outside of wrestling fans would even see it, or care. Maybe Wade Keller gets pissed off, but who cares about that? I think something like this could be effective since we've seen no male on female violence since Jericho punched HBK's wife. They could even book it as AJ trying to save Bryan and diving off the top rope at Henry, who catches her and "instinctively" gives her the slam. Have Henry show enough regret to be human, but blames Bryan for it in typical bully heel fashion. I think this could be tremendous, if handled correctly. Didn't Orton hitting Stephanie with the RKO happen after Jericho hitting Rebecca?

If we weren't in the age of PC and anti-bullying, I could see this happening. And even speaking as a fan of AJ, I think it SHOULD happen. It would help get everyone over: Mark for being an evil beast, D-Bry for getting his revenge (as long as the booking doesn't sabotage him) and AJ showing that she's strong enough to take such a move.

It would make for a really interesting story and if the payoff led to Bryan winning the championship and AJ coming out to celebrate with him as he held his championship high, it'd be a real crowd pleaser, but I don't see it happening.

Yeah, that was a lot nastier than what this thread has in mind. And there was no media outcry about that I heard about.

to those of you saying this won't happen, didn't Orton beat up Steph during the start of the PG era, which was even stricter than this period? Come now - they're not afraid to do a bit of this. I can see it happening.

Mind you, for the huge weight disparity, at least AJ is a trained wrestler, which is more than I can say for Vickie or Rebecca.

He doesn't need to destroy AJ to get in the guy's head or punish him. Mark Henry didn't need to pillmanize those superstar's legs after he beat them either, but he did it anyway. He likely won't do anything to AJ, but I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to cripple Danial Bryan sometime soon.

Mark Henry destroying AJ is perhaps the best storyline suggestion I've seen on this board in ages. And I've seen some good ones.
Especially if they plan on running Bryan/Henry at Mania.
Bryan would be so insanely over, Henry would be getting booed like a mofo. It'd be amazing.
But you'd have to actually have AJ out there being likeable and sympathetic and portraying her as Bryan's rock throughout this whole up-and-down/win-loss world title business. Do it in February or early March, and we're good to go for a hell of a Mania story.

I think they should do it, preferably during the build to WrestleMania. It would give this feud a bit of a personal element to it and it would further put the audience behind Bryan and against Henry. In fact, if people are really worried about some kind of backlash, he doesn't even need to physically attack AJ or anything. Just threatening to harm her would be more than enough.

They'll definitely have him threaten her at some point, although I doubt they'd go through with him actually laying her out.
A shame really because it could be a fantastic segment, and would take the feud to levels that simply threatening wouldn't take it to.
