I want to know what comes with savory seafood!!!! Those lust of the dead sound so stupid they would be great, but I am afraid to look into them out of fear of judgement... Hahahaha. Ho boy. I did make my friends watch a 4 hour shibari demonstration for the laughs, so maybe the judgement wouldn't be too far from where it is already cast... I guess I should contribute instead of just flying in and out with a pointless comment or two... Recently watched IN A GLASS CAGE (1981) and THE CHILDREN (1980). I liked them both, but IN A GLASS CAGE is definitely... an acquired taste? Hmmm, that not right because it makes me sound like the dirt worst. Well anyways, the pacing and subject matter would probably leave a lot of people turning it off before it ends... Which would be unfortunate because the ending makes the movie - although I feel like that too would have a lot of people being angry and or confused. It's a tad pretentious, but I found it interesting. THE CHILDREN was an fun spin on Zombie movies with all kinds of different new (radioactive) zombie powers and rules including Hug Induced Acidic Clouds. Plus, I am a sucker for children getting shot and maimed in bad movies. Oh my. The two main characters are fun and the story moved at a good clip - the corpse effects are so terrible they are almost good (albeit a tad repetitive). It's a bit paint by numbers cause I could call most of the beats out - but that's not the worst thing... Sometimes its nice to be enveloped in a cozy plot that is just fun and different enough. I wish there was a good blu ray of The Children. I got the Grindhouse Experience version Adam mentioned. And I got the old troma Dvd. But both of them don't look great. Hell they look like the VHS of Children I rented back in 85.

I’m just glad they’re not sold under the other title “Rape Zombie”. Bad enough one day my wife is going to go through my collection and just get mad. That title would bring up some other questions It’s too bad it wasn’t the 1980’s. All my kids friends would be be glad if they found their dads Playboy and my kids would be like “...hold my beer”

My review of Amityville II: The Possession (1982)
Plot: The dysfunctional Montelli family moves into the haunted Amityville house where their teenage son is possessed by a demonic force.
The Amityvile Horror was a huge hit at the box office, even if it were average in just about every single way. Sequels were unnecessary but inevitable, and Amityville II: The Possession was the first attempt at milking the franchise for all it’s worth. It’s such an obvious cash grab that if it weren’t made 40 years ago, I’d fully expect a link to its Venmo to pop up on the screen. It’s clear from the beginning the movie is going all the way in on special effects and take bits from The Exorcist to distract us from the fact that it solely exists to take our money.
And yet, somehow, I enjoy this way more than the first! I wouldn’t call it great by any means, but it’s one big hoot in a way the 1979 original isn’t. The first movie was bland oatmeal of a haunted house story—serviceable but lacking flavor. Part 2 adds some much-needed spice to the tale and the result is something that isn’t exactly a runaway success, but it’s definitely something that sticks with you. The story can be divided into two acts — the first covers a family’s descent into murder and madness, the second half devolves into an Exorcist redux. If the story isn’t super original, it more than makes up for it by injecting a hefty dose of cocaine into its veins.
There are plenty of parts of the movie that are just downright jarring, namely its depiction of full-blown incest between two of the Montelli siblings. For such taboo subject matter, it’s so unflinching in its focus on the budding relationship between the two characters that it always feels like a relief when the camera cuts away. And then there’s the several scenes of domestic violence which, I’m sorry, come off more Mommie Dearest camp than emotionally resonant. The Montelli family is pretty much a horror show all to themselves and they certainly don’t need the Amityville house to bring the scares. The white upper-middle class banal existence of the Lutz family in the first movie simply cannot compare. The movie ends with the Amityville house exploding into flames. Completely unnecessary, but on-brand given the previous 90 minutes.
It’s kind of funny how things work out here — the first movie was married to its source material, a best-selling book that was already wavering in its credibility. But by abandoning the book altogether, Amityville II: The Possession is able to pack in more thrills, however ridiculous and stupid. Nobody is going to herald it as an overlooked classic, but there are pockets of devilish fun to be found.

As I'm sure you're all wondering, I feel a viewing and write-up of Amityville 3-D in my waters. Jesus, take the wheel.

Class of Nuke ‘Em High* *DVD* This was surprisingly boring. It was more cheesy 1980’s highschool comedy than Troma gross-out. The gore was really good but way too far between. Then I was just left with a long, boring, unfunny low budget movie. The last ten minutes with the monster are pretty good but it shouldn’t have been saved for the last ten minutes.

Aw man, I love CLASS OF NUKE EM HIGH! But then I first watched it on USA Up All Night, which was home of the cheesy 80s high school comedy.

AMityville II is my favorite from that long running series. Few years ago I went out and saw all the official entries in the series and a good chunk of the unofficial entries. Outside of 2,the one with the haunted mirror, and the one with Megan Ward they are all pretty much crap.
The Nukem High films ,I saw the first on VHS in the mid to late 80s. Then first saw 2 and 3 on Sci Fi channel. Not long after the channel started they did a Troma weekend and I recorded both days of it. Cut to shreds versions of Toxie 1 thru 3 and then the same edited to hell and back Nukem High trilogy.
The last "horror" film I saw was Ernest Scared Stupid on Saturday. Got that one on Blu Ray. We did a "turn off your brains and watch 90s comedies/Ernest marathon". Started with Scared Stupid, which holds up pretty well. Followed by Ernest Goes to School,on DVD. Slam Dunk Ernest,on dvd. Ending with Ernest Ride Again.

Hit a nice horror find today. Got up and a local friend had sent me message about some old SCI FI books I was selling. Wanted to know if I would trade 5 books for some modern Megos she had. Was gonna say no then she sent me a pic of the 3 she had.... Leatherface,Candyman and Dr Hannibal Lector!!!! all still on card. Arranged to meet her in town. Traded the books straight up for the figures. Get home and the package of dvds/blu rays I ordered Xmas day from VCI finally came in. BLU RAY -------- Gorgo-GOt a buddy that loves Kaiju films I knew he didn't have this and it was like 3 bucks. DVDS ---------------- The Street Fighter Return of the Street Fighter-2 Chiba classics. And these can replace the old VHS or Laserdiscs rips I got from Brentwood 20+ years ago. Don't Look in the Basement-I love this sleazy film. And keep hearing the VCI DVD is the best release on home video.

Class of Nuke 'Em High Part 2: Subhumanoid Meltdown *DVD* I liked this one way better than the first one. The stupidity was turned up to “11” and even though there wasn’t much gore that kept me entertained. That said there were some wonderful meltings. The fashion was hilarious (loved Rogers rattail) and the extras all looked like they were f***ed up on something really good.

Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad *DVD* This was an adaptation of a video game (that I’m not sure ever made it’s way to North America) and it was far to serious for my liking. Nowhere near enough boobs, which is really the only reason I watch these crappy movies. Some of the fight choreography was really good but other times it got way too into far into live action video game territory. Some of the gore was better than usual but some of it was actually worse than usual. Basically it was a Japanese equivalent to a Resident Evil or later Romero movie. I like those movies but it’s not what I want from Japanese horror. I ended up not really paying attention to a lot of this unless the music got tense. Is it too much to ask that Infinite Bullet Girl just take her top off once? Far too serious for a movie about a girl wearing a bikini killing zombies with a katana.

Zombie Island* *Tubi* A group of thugs, the travel agents and the owners of a hotel are trapped on an island (and in the hotel) when a zombie outbreak first begins. It was subtitled and the subtitles were really small but really no matter the language a zombie movie is a zombie movie. Unlike the crazy Japanese movies I usually watch this Chinese film was pretty much a mimic of American films. Which was fine. I’ve watched so much goofy shit lately that I liked watching something serious. It still had a severe lack of nudity but again I didn’t care because I actually...liked...this movie. I liked the characters and how they were written. Even if they were as paint-by-numbers as it comes. There wasn’t much violence and the gore was -1 but I just liked this.

Guinea Pig: the Devils Experiment *DVD* So I guess I’ll see you guys later, because I’m going to hell. This was a hard one to watch. Especially the first sequence, the slapping sequence. I read about these movies probably twenty years ago and was terrified. Now I’ve reached that depth. Can I go lower? Maybe. I got all six on one DVD-R.

This movie is soooo boring it burns my soul. Like, it felt like they had to try to make it that boring. Maybe my expectations were too high for it cause the cover art was pretty good... But Onechanbara had to have been one of the most disappointing Japanese movies I've ever seen. Maybe it not all that bad and I was just having a bad day... Hahaha.
I recently watched a stinker called "Vampegedon" - it felt like a movie filmed by a college guy and he hired some local strippers or something... But my gosh, it was so bad it was good. Every line of dialogue was ADRed (cept maybe one that snuck through), all the vampires looked like uncle fester, the sets are all deserts that look like they are lit by car headlights ala ed wood. Beautiful. Anyways, it concerns some satanists/goths or something.... Some early to late 30s looking "college" kids who dress and act like high school kids... They want the next biggest thrill so they go into the desert and accidentally summon a vampire (and all the vampires ever? somehow?) who wants to take over the world - a vampire that can only be stopped by the man who vanquished him before - now possessing the body of one of the lady goths!!!! Oh me gawds!!!!!!!!
The goth lady vampire hunter is probably the highlight of the movie, but boy the director does her no service with his lighting - seemingly trying to make her look like Edward James Olmos. Gore wise there ain't much going on but one decapitation (!). There is some titillation - but its mostly random and feels more like you are a perv putting money into one of those voyeur parlos. But really, the real enjoyment for this one comes from the writing, the acting, and the production values that form a sort of perfect shitstorm. I loved it, but I can see how it wouldn't be to everyone's taste.

Guinea Pig 2: Flower of Flesh and Blood*
*DVD*
This instalment was a trip. The guy slowly disemboweling the woman was bad enough but the sparse music and dialogue made it even creepier. The effects were really good and it’s not hard to see why thirty years ago Charlie Sheen called the FBI upon viewing this.

Blackenstein* *Tubi* I was expecting something totally different than what I got from this. Given the ridiculous title I was expecting something cheesy, funny and purposefully bad. But it was just a 1940’s-1960’s horror movie, only in colour. The acting was just as bad and the music pretty much exactly the same. It does get a little gory midway through and this monster has a lot more evil intent than Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, including cannibalism. Why it got the title “Blackenstein” is beyond me. Probably to rope more people with the same expectations I had in. Were it given a “normal” horror movie title it would have just been a bad movie rather than a huge letdown.

Oh man Vampegedon!! Like 10 years ago I got it on a Echo Bridge pack with Howling 4 and 6 other horror films. Watched it and you summed it up perfectly. Plus the one stripper/30 year old college student appeared to have a wooden tooth. And we thought one of the boyfriends looked like a late ECW era Bubba Ray Dudley. For years I was ripping that DVD and passing the file around. Then Kings of Horror Youtube channel uploaded it. So now it is easy for me to show people the worst vampire film I have ever seen.

Only known of 2 people that enjoyed Blackenstein. One was my cousin's then 8 year old son. The other, and I gave him my dvd of the film, was about 10 and the son of a close friend. Sooo many longggg shots of walking!!

Class of Nuke 'Em High Part 3: The Good, the Bad and the Subhumanoid *DVD* I didn’t really care for this one as much. It kinda fell right in the middle of the second movies goofy charm and the first movies general boringness. I did like how some of the cast were beyond terrible actors, especially the guy who played Dr. Slag. PhD. And it was so hilarious that everyone always addressed him as “Dr. Slag. PhD”, as if that was his full given name. Brick Bronsky was great as the lead again. The movie just didn’t do anything for me. I think it was because Bronsky cut off the rattail from the last movie and it was like Samson.
