Who hit him? What happened to his eye? Face got messed up when he crashed into a tree and got a DUI which got him released from TNA. The funny thing is, I don't hate that he did it, I don't think he's dead to me or any of that. Do I have reason to, probably. But that won't do any good. So I'll just keep doing what I've always done. Peek in from time to time to see what's up and move on. The core wrestling fan in me is somewhat disappointed to hear he's semi-retired. The core person in me is just thinking he could have avoided all of this by stating it in a different manner.

You. Are. Done.

If he didn't realize it would be taken out of context, why the f*** didn't he explain himself the moment people started taking it as a suicide note?! I seriously doubt he didn't see all the tweets, comments, ect everywhere.
And if for some reason he didn't see them, he should've said something the moment the f***ing cops showed up at his house.
Whatever.
If he's telling the truth about retiring, it is sad for him considering it's pretty clear how much he loves wrestling. But it's not like he was going to get much work after the BS he pulled anyway.
If he cleans up and shows that he's not going to be a Grade A tool anymore, then good for him. I'll be happy for him, but until then - I still don't want anything to do with his ass.
All of those are pretty big ifs, though.

I'll take this more seriously than i should considering that this is Matt Hardy we're talking about. I honestly hope that his closest friends and family turning on him for his latest stunt was indeed his bottom. I hope that he has, as he seems to be saying, truly recognized that he is a drug addict and/or alcoholic and that he gets the help he needs. If he needs to quit wrestling in order to be a sober and sane individual, then this is something we should all support.
But, you know, this is Matt Hardy we are talking about...

I can only predict his next video will be about Matt starting life as a "part time professional wrestler."

He's retiring? From what? Logging onto YouTube? Nah, he explicitly stated that he'd still be posting on Twitter and youtube. I guess he's retiring from Facebook.

He needs to stop. He's either lying or a moron. That looked like a suicide note. If he put like, the year he started wrestling, then fine. Anyway, if he does follow through with putting up programs, then maybe he could be forgiven, as it would show he may've just been really dumb or ignorant.
The moment someone thought he was gonna kill himself, like, if it was one person, he should have cleared things up. But he didn't. If he went offline, and someone called him to say that people are thinking he's gonna kill himself, he should have cleared things up. But he didn't.
The moment the cop left his house, he should have went online and clarified. But he didn't. That's why people are having a hard time with the apology.

I once again don't know how to feel.
Having personally dealt with neurological crap - not a physical brain injury but a chemical one - I KNOW how much that f***s you up. Your ability to make logical decisions is completely shot. It took me like six months to get back to normal. If Matt is being honest about that, then I can understand how it might not have clicked with him that what he wrote would have the response that it did.
I just don't know if I should trust his honesty.

If he didn't realize that it'd have the response it did, he should have when it spiraled out of control the way it did, when the cops showed up to his house, and when his friends began to call him out on it. It if was truly unintentional, those would have been signs that it was taken a very bad way and would have prompted any person to come on and squash the rumors. Instead, he sat on it for 15 or so hours. That tells me he's not being honest.

I watched the video and what I have to say is this:
1. He filled a notebook with what exactly? The names and versions of all of his 'rebirth' characters? That's the only thing he could fill an entire notebook with because he's an empty-headed douchebag.
2. He wants to start a program for suicidal/drug addicted people? He merely said that to cover his ass.
3. He was in 4 accidents? I know he hit the tree and then 'fell' inside his home. There were two more??
4. He's retiring? The way I see it is that WWE will never let him back and TNA fired him. He has no job to officially retire from.
5. The only truth I feel he spoke in the video is that he knows a little bit about drug addiction.
That is all.

Yeah, it isn't really a "retirement" when you've already burned bridges with all the major companies that'd hire you.
As much as this just looks like Matt trying to backtrack and cover his ass (which it probably is), I hope he means it when he says he's taking an extended break from the wrestling business, and that includes the "using the internet to put myself over" part of the business. I hope he is able to get his s*** together and become a sane, likable person again.
I'm just sorry, speaking as someone who really enjoyed his in-ring work, that Matt's last act "as a full-time professional wrestler" wound up being him making a complete ass of himself.

I don't know if I mentioned it in this thread yet, but I honestly have to wonder if Matt's current state has anything to do with concussions.

It's typical attention seeking behavior. It's really no different than the thousands of people that post veiled suicide threats on their facebook page. Dude was probably just depressed and wanted to see how many people cared about him. You know, that would be fine for a 16 year old. Or maybe even a guy in their 20's. But someone at Matt's age should be grown up enough to not be doing this kind of shit.
Screw him. He's a mediocre talent and a crappy person from most accounts.
