James Hinchcliffe passes Takuma Sato on the final turn on the final lap to win the Sao Paulo Indy 300! What an insane last 5 laps. An incredible finish that goes to prove that some Indycar fans just will continue to insist to find ways to un-enjoy something. Great finish? Let's bitch about blocking instead! Great race? Too bad, we'd rather pull off the airboxes and bumpers, muck with the aero that we know produces great races, and let them "innovate", because the car doesn't look exactly like a 1992 Lola or 1997 Reynard! Seriously. I and I think you as well have mentioned before on some other topics about how horrible IndyCar fans are - this season has been even better than last season so far, and last season was awesome, and there will still be fans bitching about everything. That was one of the best races I've ever seen of any type of motorsport, in particular that ending, and I'm sure there will be rumblings about all sorts of crap that doesn't matter because the racing is about as good as it can possibly be. Anyway, if you're a racing fan at all and didn't catch that IndyCar race, you should do yourself a favor and watch it. It'll probably be up in full on IndyCar's YouTube channel soon enough. Especially that closing segment - brilliant racing by the top-five or six, and a fantastic move by Hinchcliffe to win it.

Is Kurt Busch all right? That wreck left me worried. All drivers were noted on the telecast as out of their cars, checked out, and released from medical care.

Stenhouse is the one to blame here. Making a stupid move that he never should've. He's not that good of a driver. Just once, I'd like to see someone who made their name in the Sprint Car ranks not suck when they make it to the Stock Cars. Well, as long as it's not Kyle Larson. I still resent all the hype he gets.

Well Newmans probably gonna get a fine for those comments. The comments in question: “I am doing this interview to let everybody know I’m alright. They can build safer race cars, they can build safer walls. But they can’t get their heads out of their asses far enough to keep them on the race track, and that’s pretty disappointing. I wanted to make sure I get that point across. Y’all can figure out who ‘they’ is. That’s no way to end a race. Our car was much better than that. That’s just poor judgment in restarting the race, poor judgment … I mean; you got what you wanted, but poor judgment and running in the dark and running in the rain. That’s it, thank you.”

Stenhouse is the one to blame here. Making a stupid move that he never should've. He's not that good of a driver. Not for nothing, but you are trying to claim that Stenhouse is a second coming of God when in reality all he's trying to do is be consistent in his rookie year. In my opinion, after seeing the crash multiple times, all the fault goes to Yeley. All Stenhouse did was go four-wide, and he had room to do so. Only Yeley tried to block, and he put Kurt Busch on his lid. If you want to know who sucks, look at JJ Yeley. Here's a guy who inherited one of the best rides in all the Cup garage in the Joe Gibbs #18, and proceeded to do less than jack crap with it. He's an over-rated overconfident driver who couldn't race his way out of a paper bag.

It's just kind of bad when Trackforum is the saner of the major Indycar forums.

Hell, they're still complaining about Franchitti on the last lap of the 500 last year.
Meanwhile a Foyt driver is leading the championship heading into the 500, and Marco Andretti of all people is having the most consistent season. There's some promising rookies looking to make the 500 this year, we will see one and could see two 500 champions come back in one-off efforts, there are two drivers who could join the ranks of four-time 500 winners. TV ratings and general mainstream awareness aside, this is a great season for IndyCar fans.

The entry list for the 2013 Indianapolis 500 was released. 32 drivers, 33 cars, and expected to see Buddy Rice and Buddy Lazier added at some point soon. Apparently they were expected to file for entry today and haven't yet. Also there are some (highly unlikely) rumors that Kurt Busch's upcoming IndyCar test could lead to something, but I'll believe that when I see it.
1/1T Ryan Hunter-Reay / Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA / Chevrolet / Andretti Autosport 2/2T AJ Allmendinger / Los Gatos, CA, USA / Chevrolet / Team Penske 3/3T Hélio Castroneves / São Paulo, BRA / Chevrolet / Team Penske
4/4T JR Hildebrand / Sausalito, CA, USA / Chevrolet / Panther Racing 5/5T E.J. Viso / Caracas, VEN / Chevrolet / Andretti Autosport 6/6T Sebastián Saavedra / Bogotá, COL / Chevrolet / Dragon Racing
7/7T Sébastien Bourdais / Le Mans, FRA / Chevrolet / Dragon Racing 8/8T Ryan Briscoe / Sydney, AUS / Honda / Chip Ganassi Racing 9/9T Scott Dixon / Auckland, NZL / Honda / Target Chip Ganassi Racing
10/10T Dario Franchitti / Edinburgh, Scotland, GBR / Honda / Target Chip Ganassi Racing 11/11T Tony Kanaan / Salvador, BRA / Chevrolet / KV Racing Technology 12/12T Will Power / Toowoomba, AUS / Chevrolet / Team Penske
14/14T Takuma Sato / Tokyo, JPN / Honda / A.J. Foyt Enterprises 15/15T Graham Rahal / New Albany, OH, USA / Honda / Rahal Letterman Lanigan 16/16T James Jakes / Leeds, England, GBR / Honda / Rahal Letterman Lanigan
17/17T Michel Jourdain Jr. / Mexico City, MEX / Honda / Rahal Letterman Lanigan 18/18T Ana Beatriz / São Paulo, BRA / Honda / Dale Coyne Racing 19/19T Justin Wilson / Sheffield, England, GBR / Honda / Dale Coyne Racing
20/20T Ed Carpenter / Indianapolis, IN, USA / Chevrolet / Ed Carpenter Racing 21/21T Josef Newgarden / Hendersonville, TN, USA / Honda / Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing 22/22T Oriol Serviá / Pals, ESP / Chevrolet / Panther DRR
25/25T Marco Andretti / Nazareth, PA, USA / Chevrolet / Andretti Autosport 26/26T Carlos Muñoz / Bogotá, COL / Chevrolet / Andretti Autosport 27/27T James Hinchcliffe / Toronto, Ontario, CAN / Chevrolet / Andretti Autosport
40/40T TBA / TBA / Chevrolet / Ed Carpenter Racing 41/41T Conor Daly / Noblesville, IN, USA / Honda / A.J. Foyt Enterprises 55/55T Tristan Vautier / Corenc, FRA / Honda / Schmidt Peterson Motorsports
60/60T Townsend Bell / San Luis Obispo, CA, USA / Chevrolet / Panther Racing 77/77T Simon Pagenaud / Poitiers, FRA / Honda / Schmidt Hamilton Motorsports 78/78T Simona de Silvestro / Thun, SUI / Chevrolet / KV Racing Technology
83/83T Charlie Kimball / Camarillo, CA, USA / Honda / Chip Ganassi Racing 98/98T Alex Tagliani / Lachenaie, Quebec, CAN / Honda / Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb-Agajanian TBA/TBAT Pippa Mann / Ipswich, England, GBR / Honda / Dale Coyne Racing
As it stands: Three former winners in the field - Castroneves (2001, 2002, 2009), Dixon (2008), Franchitti (2007, 2010, 2012) Five IndyCar champions - Hunter-Reay (2012), Bourdais (Champ Car 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007), Scott Dixon (IndyCar 2003, 2008), Franchitti (IndyCar 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011), Kanaan (IndyCar 2004) Four rookies - Allmendinger, Muñoz, Daly, Vautier
Assuming both Buddy Rice and Buddy Lazier are added, there would be five former winners, with Lazier winning the 500 in 1996, and Rice in 2004. There would also be six champions, with Lazier as the 2000 IRL champion.
Looks like it will be a stacked field this year, especially if the two Buddys make it in. Over half the entrants have won at least one race in their career, and the only drivers that haven't really come close aside from the true rookies are Saavedra, Jakes, Beatriz, and Mann.

So, what will be illegal about Matt's car this time that the appeals board will ignore?

What's everyone's opinions here on the KyBu/Kasey Kahne spin situation? I watched it several times and didn't see what caused Kasey to go fishy. I think it was just aero and Kasey being a not so great driver coming to bite him.

I think it was just aero and Kasey being a not so great driver coming to bite him. Just to give my 2 cents, it looked like Kasey couldn't drive down as far into the corner as he had been, and Kyle tried his best to stay low. Whether he hit Kasey or not, I don't know. But the amount of people on Twitter (myself included at first) saying KyBu did it on purpose is laughable.

He's easily my favorite driver but after some of the shit he's pulled I would probably be blaming him if I wasn't a fan.

I still harbor ill will over the 2008 Richmond race. But I would've rather had he or Kasey win over Captain Boredom.

One of Formula 1's greatest partnerships is coming back... www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/294715/honda-returns-to-formula-1-with-mclaren/From 2015, McLaren F1 cars will once more be powered by Honda engines. Let's just hope the team can get their act together in time, because this season has been pretty average so far. As a consequence, this would end the McLaren and Mercedes-Benz partnership right on 20 consecutive years.

Now if they could find a replacement for Vodafone that'd allow them to have a livery superficially similar to the Marlboro livery, and they'd be set.
