Sorry to be a killjoy but it's still a fascinating comparison. Like Eddie Irvine would've been a WDC with 2003, 2006 and 2010 points. The James Hunt/Niki Lauda title flip-flops between different regulations and that Prost would have more titles than Schumacher potentially.

Damn, and I thought I was doing something original. Eh, it's a lot of fun to do something like that on your own anyway. You learn more that way than by just looking at the numbers.

ESPN just broke that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will not be in the next two races(Charlotte and Kansas) due to a concussion suffered in the last-lap crash at Talladega, and Regan Smith(who was scheduled to drive for Phoenix Racing Saturday after Kurt Busch moved to Furniture Row) will sub for him.

Awesome for him and Regan but sucks so bad for Jr. It's now being reported Jr. suffered a first concussion after a wreck at a tire test on Aug. 29. So this will be number 2 in basically less than a month.

We've lost a good one in PA.
Daryn Pittman is leaving the PA 410 Scene (after 4 years) to return to the World of Outlaws, driving the Kasey Kahne Racing #9 in 2013 after it was announced that Joey Saldana will be leaving that ride.
This leaves the seat of the Lelands.com/Heffner Motorsports #27 open in PA, and it's assumed that Doug Esh will be the one to inherit it, as his car owner (Dick Leach) is retiring from car ownership, parking the Leach Motorsports #30 for good after many years of 'will-he-or-won't-he?'.
As for the Track Champions in the PA 410 Sprint scene :
Lincoln Speedway - Danny Dietrich (Sandoe's Fruit Market/Gary Kauffman Motorsports #48) Port Royal Speedway - Chad Layton (Middleswarth Potato Chips/Dave Middleswarth #7) Williams Grove Speedway - Greg Hodnett (Eagle Steel/Trone Outdoor Motorsports #39)
As for the World of Outlaws, Donny Schatz (STP/Tony Stewart Racing #15) pretty much has another title locked up.

Sucks for Jr but it's the right thing. He might end up missing more then two races but whenever he comes back he'll be healthy and thats the good thing.

I hope they will still show the races live. There is something about tape delays that irk me.

I am truthfully afraid of Junior's health, as these two concussions are not the only ones he has suffered. For Smith and Allmendinger, TIME TO SHINE KIDS!

That's pretty huge actually. So now NBC Sports will be home to the biggest open wheel racing league in the world and in the US. Well done NBCSN, well done.

Too bad nobody watches NBC Sports. But, this does mean I won't have to watch Speed at all. Though, wasn't there a rumor that Speed is going away anyway?

Daryn Pittman wins tonight at Williams Grove in his final race in the Heffner Motorsports #27 car.
We'll miss you in PA, Daryn. Good luck on the Outlaw tour, just don't beat us when the Outlaws come back to Williams Grove and Lincoln.

Clint Bowyer wins at Charlotte! Quote of the night when asked about fuel milage: "I don't know what any of that means. I just turn left at the end of the straight away." - Clint Bowyer Points after 5 Chase races: Keselowski | 2214 | Johnson | -7 | Hamlin | -15 | Bowyer | -28 | Kahne | -35 | Biffle | -43 | Truex Jr. | -49 | Stewart | -50 | Gordon | -50 | Harvick | -56 | Kenseth | -67 | Earnhardt Jr. | -86 |
Biffle gains 3 spots, Gordon loses 3. Bowyer and Truex Jr. each gain 1, while Stewart and Kahne lose 1.

NASCAR announced their new (old) qualifying method for Cup. 36-6-1: 36 fastest qualifiers 6 highest teams via owners points 1 past champion (will be 7 on points if no champion eligible) Qualifying order will be by random draw, rain outs via the rule book.
NASCAR also announced that each organization will be allowed 4 tests at NASCAR tracks next year. 4 tests per organization total so Hendrick for example can only test the same number of times as Tommy Baldwin. However, there is no limit to the number of teams you take to a test so Hendrick can take all 4 teams to test at say Bristol, and it only counts as one test.
Finally, they shrunk the Nationwide field from 43 cars to 40 to try and get rid of some of the start and park teams.

There is a rumor going around Twitter that Danica Patrick may be out a sponsor as Go Daddy is hiring a new advertising firm that wants nothing to do with her.
