Thanks to a ton of gift-PSN cards, I'm suddenly tasked with deciding between two games to spend $40 on.
So. Playstation All-Stars or Twisted Metal, guys?

If switching from HDMI to composite connections hold the power button when turning it on. After it beeps the PS3 switches to the default composite video settings to play on a standard-def TV. Thanks a bunch hopefully that does the trick. i'll give it a go.

I'd probably get PSASBR as I was underwhelmed by Twisted Metal. The game was unnecessarily too difficult, even on on the easiest mode. But the online is pretty interesting though, if that's what you're looking for.

After thinking about it, I decided to spend it on the two MK games, since Mortal Kombat's on sale and I think Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is underrated. I think I did get as far into Twisted Metal before it crossed into being unfun (that damn Endurance Race as Dollface) and I don't know, I'm thinking of waiting a bit more on All-Stars.

I played the demo for The Walking Dead but there seemed to be a fair bit of bashing the buttons really fast which is something I hate. It was manageable in the demo but does this continue throughout the game and if you don't press them quick enough do you get eaten by zombies?

Well, a small bit of justice, EU's game next month is Bioshock 2.
Maybe they'll give us a game for them to be jealous of for once.

And us Statesiders get NBA Jam: On Fire Edition this week. Although I think next week is when we'll get the next AAA title free.

So spent the rest of my gift card on a pre-owned copy of Dead Space 2 (love the hell out of it, but only played it on the 360, and my brother has it now), so it'll be good to go through it again for a trophy haul. Also got myself ANOTHER 3-month PS+ card. Huzzah.

I most likely will once I get my PS+ card next week. I have the Wii version and it's so much fun. It will be nice to play with a normal controller.

So I used my $20 PSN card I got for Christmas to buy Tokyo Jungle, Sound Shapes(soooooooooooooo much fun on the PS3, I can only imagine how the Vita version is like), and Two Worlds II Velvet GotY Edition(what? I heard surprising good things about this game and it only cost $5).
I was debating for a while between a Vita and a Wii U but PS+ giving me most of the Vita's good games as well as buying a few downloadable titles recently have given me a Vita version for free has made the Vita the clear winner for me(that and right now the Wii U's future release list is incredibly small, barely any announced third party games for early next year, and only a handful of first/second party titles in that time span too). So I'll hopefully be picking a Vita and the largest memory stick I can afford within the next few months.

Finished a couple of games recently - L.A Noire & Max Payne 3. L.A Noire was definitely unique but it did get a wee bit repetitive after a while. And it felt like once you got to the last desk (Arson) they went "Jeez we might as well put a bit of effort into this storyline" and the thing was that it got better after they did, I enjoyed all the cases linking together the same way I felt at the murder desk with the Black Dhalia stuff but still, good game, glad I played it
Max Payne 3 was just cool fun and I loved it. I never played the first two so I was a newbie to the series. It may only have one thing gameplay wise separating it from other shooters but good god is that one thing so much fun and I did enjoy the story and the style it had going too

Well I was certainly not expecting GameTrailers' GotY winner.....
It wasn't Journey, it wasn't The Walking Dead, it wasn't even Assassin's Creed III, Halo 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, or Mass Effect 3.
It was......XCOM: Enemy Unknown.......

Yeah, we discussed this either earlier this thread or in another, and I shall reinforce here what I said then, which is basically that if Sony do this, I will switch to X-Box if they dont.
This is ridiculous and this is greedy.
Online passes and things, sure, I can sort of understand that. But an outright ban on preowned games working even offline without paying extra is just a massive slap in the face.

It is still better than the alternative of not being able to play used games period whatsoever.
