Great film, classic Bond all the way through loved it.
(Adele song is okay in my opinion, not one of the great bond themes but it goes well with this film)

Bartender: What's your drink? Bond: Heineken, in a mug. Seriously shit like that is how you make people revolt against your product.

Casino Royale was okay by me, but Quantum of Solace wasn't anything I'd want to even come close to re-living.
It was the ONLY film I've ever fallen asleep watching in the theater. It was the blandiest of bland action flicks. Bond was so morose and dreary...I mean, I know he's British, but come on.
I won't get burned again by paying $$ for it at the theater, but when Netflix instant puts it out, I'll definitely check in on it.

Saw the film last night and it's absolutely amazing. Maybe my favourite film of the year. And the title sequence actually made me like Adele's Skyfall theme.
I would go back and see it at the cinema anytime its that fantastic.

{Spoiler}The weakest of the three Daniel Craig Bond films so far I felt. It was good, with a great opening, but it just felt it was all about M after the capture of Silvia. Fair enough that is was an end of her period in the films but it was more of a set up of what was to come more than anything else. It was good, but there are better Bond films.
Also, why the Hell couldn't they get Connery to play Kincade? Or one of the other older Bonds. The role just screamed out for it.

I have just seen it. Will probably write more about how I feel about it tomorrow but my god it was f***ing amazing and easily the best Bond movie ever IMO. America is in for a treat on Friday Also minor spoiler (drink related) {Spoiler}Bond basically gives up and spends most of his time getting trashed near a bar on a tropical beach - to represent his complete demise, we see him drink a bottle of Heineken, suggesting that he's hit absolute rock bottom.
But - as he resurrects himself during the rest of the film, it's back to swilling vodka martinis and fine single malt. So all the banter about him only drinking Heineken/death of the Bond Martini in the movie (before its release) was wrong and it makes perfect sense from a character standpoint as well. Something tells me Heineken is going to get all their money back from the deal anyway, so everyone wins And the opening titles are incredible, easily Daniel Kleinman's best work out of all the Bond opening titles. I hope the movie gets a nomination for Best Picture, Best Actor (Craig) and best supporting actor (Bardem) at the Oscars

Excellent, really liked it. A great return to form after the disappointing letdown QOS. They wisely brought back the elements of the successful formula that makes Bond, Bond and let up somewhat on the dreary realism. The formula's worked for 50 years, it was a dumb move to mess with it too much and omit things. Plus with the whole 50 year thing, there needed to be nods to other movies in the franchise and those were awesome, not overdone just really cool. {Spoiler}The return of Q and Moneypenny (called it before the reveal ) The return of an outlandish, disfigured villain Shaken not stirred (albeit unsaid) Plus some humour was back! The recalls I noticed... Bond 'dying' but then resurfacing: You Only Live Twice Bond: "For her eyes only" Q mentioning exploding pens and also the villain being a former MI6 agent: Goldeneye Jumping off the monitor lizard's head: The alligator jumps in Live and Let Die Aston Martin DB5 with ejector seat: Goldfinger Gun barel needs to be at the beginning though.

Just got back from seeing this at the theater. Totally lives up to the hype. From a technical standpoint this was one of the best shot Bond movies of all time. All of the set pieces were well done, beautifully lit and very detailed. Story spoilers {Spoiler}Silva was a great villain it's like what would happen if you took The Joker, The Riddler and comic book Bane and put them into a blender. Loved seeing them bring back Q and Moneypenny and most importantly the Aston Marton into the Bond verse. I loved seeing M get in on the action, and her buddy cop show banter with Bond was great. Sad to see her go from the series. And speaking of which, now Lord Voldemort is the head of MI6, looks like Harry Potter is really in for it now.

Just got back: {Spoiler}Marked out for the Bond Car As soon as M died, I immediately knew her replacement. Enjoyed Silva. Great villain, would say best if I had seen all the films first. What is the trend with films being shot in Istanbul this year?

Just saw it, and let me just say that Silva is one of the best big screen villains of the f***ing decade. Amazing stuff from Bardem.

(Adele song is okay in my opinion, not one of the great bond themes but it goes well with this film) i didn't care for it, but maybe thats just because i can't stand it when people pronounce "r" and "w" Let the skyfall, when it cwumbles...
