How can you be fatigued by teams being good? It's not the SEC's fault that no other conference has stepped up. Remember that stretch from the mid-80s to the late-90s when the NFC was invincible in the Super Bowls and non-NFC fans were tired of the same old, same old. Is that the NFC's fault? They had the best teams during that time. They deserved it.

In the NCAA's defense, when you lie, you only compound the problem. If they would have come forward at first and laid it all out there they would have been fine I feel. But the way the NCAA does it is ridiculous. Even if you lied about it, the punishment should be worse than the original penalty of the infraction. The way they do it it'd be like if a shoplifter lied about stealing a watch, so got booked for grand theft auto instead. Oh I'm not saying the way the NCAA does things as far as punishment isn't dumb at times(Vacating games and acting like they never happened being one of those dumb punishments). All I'm saying is that if Tressel didn't lie about what's going on, they would have gotten off much easier and he should have handled it a bit better.

The Dallas/San Fran run feels like it was the first half of the 90s, but then Denver and Green Bay started to win in the second half. Of course I could just google the winners by year.

Well, my interest for the National Title game went from "Alright, this game is gonna be awesome" to "S***. Bama's in it again. Won't watch it this year."

I agree that vacating games is a dumb punishment. It's only really effective for a guy like Joe Paterno, where it takes him out of official record books. But for everyone else, it's pretty much toothless. The money was already made and the games were already played, no one is going to care if the NCAA tries to wave their hands and say it didn't happen.

Assuming it will be Notre Dame v. Alabama...
It's going to be everybody in the nation rooting against Alabama, but Alabama fans and some SEC fans who want to see SEC win it again. Still, some SEC fans hate Alabama and might still root for the Irish.

So it's probably the national title game of two teams who everyone hates.

I think most fans would be OK with Georgia playing for the title- again, their last title was in 1980.
Bama? That's another story.

I'm not sure how anyone outside of our fan bases would choose a side.

Georgia has to beat Bama. Which actually isn't that small a possibility. They have a pretty good offense.

I think most of us are just expecting UGA to go UUUGH-A again. They are known for that in the conference championship game. I think they've only beaten an SEC west team twice in the past ten years in the SEC championship game. Arkansas in 2002 and LSU in.....2007 I think. Edit: 2006. LSU won it all in 2007.
