I live in Georgia and I have seen Georgia Tech screw up some of UGA's seasons before. One scenario non-SEC fans can hope for is for Tech to beat Georgia and then Georgia beating Alabama.
Now frankly I am a Georgia fan and DON'T want that to happen. This won't make me popular here, but I root for Alabama when they aren't playing Georgia. Moreover, my two favorite teams look in good shape after this week. One of them is likely to be in the Championship game.

I give Tech a small chance against UGA because of how erratic they are. One week they're on fire and the next week they look like crap.

ESPN says B1G is in "serious" talks with Maryland and if that domino falls, Rutgers will come with. I really did laugh out loud when I read that. The Big East needs to raise a white flag over their HQ and sue for peace with the ACC in a merger that excludes Louisville(Big 12 I am telling you), Boise, SDSU, Temple and Cincy(B1G one day). The two tx teams make sense recruiting, add Louisiana Tech and southern miss

Assuming it will be Notre Dame v. Alabama... It's going to be everybody in the nation rooting against Alabama, but Alabama fans and some SEC fans who want to see SEC win it again. Still, some SEC fans hate Alabama and might still root for the Irish. The thing is there are a lot of people who also hate Notre Dame. So it's probably the national title game of two teams who everyone hates. Honestly, I'd be rooting for the Irish. I normally wouldn't, but ND's such a feel good story this year that it's a lot easier to root for them vs. Bama. Plus they haven't been relevant for quite some time either. Plus I like the way they actually build their program and have a much stronger focus on academics for the athletes than a lot of other FBS schools. But I'm sure once the ND fans and players get that swagger back, everyone will go back to hating them again.

You know, I'd dig a Alabama/ND title game. It would make me feel like College Football had gone back to the golden days. The nostalgia of probably the two most important college football programs in the country playing each other would be awesome.

I would say that a ND/Bama national title game would make the most money for the stadium, the sponsor, and the NCAA than probably any other possible combination of teams in the same spot.

The idea of a Notre Dame/Alabama national title game is pretty underwhelming to me, not because of ND, but because once again the SEC is in the title game. Yes, I know it won't change until other teams step up and keep them out, but still, it doesn't make it any less tiresome.

Oh, on paper it should be a great game. I think most of us are just expecting UGA to go UUUGH-A again. They are known for that in the conference championship game. I think they've only beaten an SEC west team twice in the past ten years in the SEC championship game. Arkansas in 2002 and LSU in.....2007 I think. Edit: 2006. LSU won it all in 2007. Actually, Georgia beat LSU for the SEC title in 2005. Florida won it in 2006. Edit: If it came down to Notre Dame/Alabama, I'm rooting for the Irish even though I can't stand both teams.

Arizona beats Utah 34-24. Neither of the Pac-12 newbies have done well this season.

I forgot about Florida's 2006 run. I just remember the Georgia/LSU SEC title game because there was a play where an LSU player blindsided a Georgia player 10 seconds after the whistle blew and was rolling on the floor laughing. I also remember all the other LSU players on the field throwing their hands in the air in exasperation.

At least LSU beat the s*** out of Miami in the Peach Bowl that year. Les Miles broke a tie with Bernie Moore for 2nd place in LSU history in wins with the win today.

I'd give anything for either ND or Alabama to lose before the BCS Title game. If those 2 get together, that game will be ugly as sin. There's no f***ing way that Oregon should drop to below Florida in the polls. K-State should, as they lost to an unranked team, but Oregon didn't. They shouldn't fall as far.

Wasn't that the game where Miami players chased after LSU players in the tunnel after the game, only to get chased right back out?

Florida's only loss is to Georgia so I don't mind Oregon falling below them personally.
The spread between 4 and 5 won't be much so it will depend on how those two teams perform from here on out.

Miles needs 54 more wins to pass him for #1 all-time in LSU history.
