Well you can't cancel it because it can screw up a lot of things. The AFC is really close this year and strength of victory, based on opponents winning percentage, is one of the playoff tiebreakers, so everyone needs to play 16.
The risk you run when postponing it is deciding how long before it is ok to play again. Are you gonna be any less grief stricken on Monday? Tuesday? Any later than that and it messes up the next week.
There really aren't any good decisions.

As a Chiefs fan, this just shocks me, everything about it. Jovan Belcher was a player I respected because he was undrafted out of Maine University and made the team as a starter through hard work and determination. And then to just now hear this....its sickening, all of it.

Just got off phone w/the KCPD. Spokesman said PD the girl's mother called them, her daughter had been shot by her "on-again, off-again bf".

That call was at 7:50 CT. Police called to Arrowhead at 8:10. They found Chiefs staffers, and the player w/a gun to his head in parking lot.

This is terrible news. My heart goes out to the families and people involved in this terrible situation, as well as Chiefs fans.
As for playing tomorrow, I think that should be up to the Chiefs. But I can understand either possible outcome.

Did Belcher suffer some head trauma during his college or pro days? I really don't know any of his history but you just don't kill your child's mother and yourself on a whim. Something had to be wrong.

This is another Benoit situation, sadly. |

This is just shocking news. From what I've read Belcher never had any sort of criminal history. Who knows if we'll ever find out what posessed him to do something like this?
