It sounds like the exact same sound every single time played during backstage segments.
Am I mad, or does anyone else hear this as well?

Yeah, the "seagull pop" I think some call it. It really needs to be changed, since it's not like WWE doesn't have the resources.

they sweeten the sound on Smackdown all the time its kind of annoying, they rarley do it on RAW only cause its live, tho there have been instances where they do it too. TNA is even worst with it, and much more obious since you can see 1/3rd of the audience most times and they aint reacting at all wile you hear huge cheers and claps.

Can you imagine how dead the crowd would sound if they didn't use that? Those people had to sit through a Ted Dibiase/Hunico match!

The Smackdown hair dryer is still better than the TNA jet engine.

They use that shit during everything. Even during in ring promos while the people are talking and the crowd is clearly quietly listening, they still make it sound like they're going wild with the cheering/booing. It's like they've never watched an episode of wrestling in their life and don't know when a crowd reacts to something. Actually, knowing TNA... I notice it on Smackdown too, but it's not as annoying then for some reason. It's fun to pretend that Daniel Bryan just got the crowd to collectively orgasm after each of his moves.

I've went to a Smackdown show just 2 months ago, and despite being a meh show, complete with Teddy Long's tag team main event of the week, the crowd was hot all night long. I don't even know why they bother with the fake noise.

I don't understand why it's called a "seagull pop". I've never heard a seagull that sounded like that.

I love that it's actually got a name.
The most ridiculous one I can remember is when Alicia Fox appeared on screen backstage and the crowd popped like it was The Undertaker ;D

Now that you mention it... Yeah I do hear it. I would not mind piped in crowd cheers just don't make it completely obvious.

The Smackdown hair dryer is still better than the TNA jet engine. Yeah, both are pretty bad but TNA's constant droning "booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" ....is the worst.

these companies need to find a better way to edit boos and cheers in because what they use sound so obviously phony. It's laughable.
