Layla and Kaval would be the first pairing I'd care about since Edge and Lita. They could've done so much with that, they played off one another fanastically well and they could've gotten Layla over to--dare I say it--Trish Stratus or Lita status because the audience would have more reason to care about her than any diva they'd seen in years. Suddenly she'd be a victim of Michelle McCool's bullying, a sweet heart to the kick ass Kaval, and a fan favorite underdog in the women's division. WTF were they thinking--and at the time I honestly thought that was where they were going with Kaval. It seemed so natural and I wouldn't be surprised if Michelle or Layla pitched it and Creative spat it back in their faces because they didn't want him to be pushed. They didn't need to push it to creative. If there was anybody in the WWE who was actually watching NXT and paying attention, they could've seen it. But, I don't think anyone really was watching. Think about all the crappy pairings the WWE tried do over the past few years. Dolph Ziggler and Maria, Santino and Tamina, Daniel Bryan and The Bella Twins, freakin' Ted Dibiase and Maryse. Ted Dibiase and Maryse had as much chemistry as a lit fart, and at the same time there was Layla and Kaval with dynamite chemistry and they do anything with them.

I actually thought that the Daniel Bryan/Bella Twins/Gail Kim thing was mildly entertaining. I like that one mixed gender tag he had with Gail where they finished off their opponents with synchronized drop kicks, and that scene where the Bellas walked in on Gail and Bryan was amusing.

I still say Kaval's pairing with Laycool was one of the greatest pairings ever. Most notably because they were basically faces and got cheers on NXT with Kaval, and then an hour later when they would tape Smackdown they were the top heels. I don't know of that happening ever before.

You know all these things I see here, he's too small, he has a bad look, they never saw him as anything more than a jobber. Then why the hell did they hire him in the first place? That's a good question. There must have been more going on than just creative "not having anything for him." Maybe he didn't get along with someone backstage?

he didnt realize that sometimes it just takes time to WWE do something with you But here's the answer to that riddle: He "won" a contest specifically DESIGNED to give them something to do with him, and they still did nothing but job him out. That's why I don't buy the "he should have been patient" rap. He won NXT, he had an automatic title shot, which should come with a built in angle.

I've heard Kaval categorized as his own biggest fan with not that great of an attitude.
Funny because I've heard similar things about Seth Rollins (Tyler Black) and CM Punk. I haven't seen enough of Austin Aries but hell he's given off some signs of this too. So what is it, Ring of Honor or working with Cornette?

Neither....it's just gossip that none of us can confirm or deny. Just speculation that eventually evolves into something the IWC start taking as fact.

I don't know of that happening ever before. There was no way it should've worked, but it did. When it was announced that they were gonna be his pros, it seemed like every Hardcore Wrestling fan who knew who Low-Ki was and knew what he could do were rolling their eyes and shaking their heads. But that grouping allowed him to show his "Sports Entertainment" side. It showed that he could be more than an Indy Darling. He wasn't just a "Vanilla Midget". He was great playing playing the straight man to these annoying Mean Girls. If you go back and watch some of those segments they did, you can see him rolling his eyes, making faces at them, and mocking them in the background. It was hilarious. Also, if you do a Youtube search for Kaval and Layla, you'd see all these fan-made music videos about them. So, it was obviously something that people wanted to see and something they were looking forward to see where it was going, but they never capitalized on it.

I met Ki a few years back, and he was EASILY the 2nd nicest wrestler I've ever talked to, after Big Bossman. Chatted with me and my dad practically all through a ten minute intermission of a show, thought that could be because we were one of a small handful that bought a t-shirt.

I wish it had been Laycool vs Beth and Natalya at WM with the ultimate swerve being Beth betraying Natalya and taking the title to lead into a confrontation between Beth and Nat over the title and Michelle v Layla Loser is fired...

I still don't buy the "WWE didn't want him to win NXT" argument. If WWE wanted someone specific to win NXT, that someone would have won NXT. It's not like Alex Riley got treated any better. He was a stooge who got destroyed on a weekly basis, had a brief (BRIEF) push, and has since disappeared for months.

Yeah, it looked like Riley was about to be pushed into Zack Ryder's current position, if it wasn't for that sandbagging incident.

He did have a storyline. And at an appropriate time it could have been built if he'd just waited a bit.

So, he was willing to wait. He waited a decade for a shot at the WWE, I don't think a few more months would've mattered to him to get a big push. They were never going to push him.

that match he had with ziggler was easily the best (IMO) of survivor series 2010.
