Konnan is a bizarrely polarizing wrestler.

It seems like anyone who's seen his lucha work in Mexico loves the guy, but anyone only familiar with the post-mask stuff hates his guts.

I've always just been hugely apathetic to the guy, and I've never seen his Mexican work admittedly.

Konnan was godawful in WCW. That dude was boring in the ring and terrible on the mic and he was on every single show, he was WCW's version of X-Pac heat.

I feel opposite. I love Konnan and think he's among the most interesting and charismatic guys around. I wish he wasn't basically erased from history as told by WWE. Like you said he was always around in WCW during the Nitro years.

As much as I hated his later 90s/Wolfpac stuff, his time prior to and during his Dungeon of Doom stint was among my favorite. When he was motivated, he was a GREAT all-around talent. Once he started getting fat and lazy and turned into dial-a-catchphrase, he became intolerable.

Oh, and his somersaulting clothesline was one of my favorite moves ever. Someone needs to bring it back.

Yeah, and despite the thread's reaction to his crappy catchphrases, crowds sure loved to sing along with him as much as they did with say...the Road Dogg's "ladies and gentlemen" bit. It's just one got fondly remembered and the other gets mocked relentlessly.
