Yes, his turn his forced. Yes, he's doing every heel tattic in the book to get heat. But my god, dude is just turning it up another level on the mic lately. His promos make you laugh by the utter bs, make you scream because why is he saying that, and then make you want to cheer him so more because how much he's trying so hard to make it work.

I like the way that, in spite of having it all going his way, he's always complaining about some perceived slight. He's the ultimate conspiracy theory bitch; indeed, he's a Punk. ...and Punk having the most obnoxious yes-man in wrestling following him everywhere, holding his title belt, well that's golden.

I've seen some of his mic work and it was pretty repetitive. It just makes me not want to watch that much more really

It just makes me not want to watch that much more really Punk can get repetitive, but in regards to his current status, he really doesn't have much he can talk about. He's hurt, and he needs to have a presence on the show being the WWE Champion. I still enjoy him because even if he's repeating himself, he has so much passion and conviction in his promos. It's a breath of fresh air when seemingly everyone else essentially reads from a script.

I want it to get to the point where he's actually threatening to kill fans, on-mic, in the middle of promos, instead of just off-mic.
"I'm not joking, you fat asshole. I'm going down to the ticket office, having them pull up your credit card records so I can get your address, and I am going to burn your goddamn house down while you sleep."

I wonder how that works now, it used to be much looser back in the 80s and then it seems like Steve Austin stepped up and they gave him some freedom to ad lib because he was that good at it, but I got the impression that he just did it and took the chance, which is probably what Punk is doing, while a lot of others are probably worried about it

CM Punk is in Kurt Angle territory where the fans don't want to boo him no matter what ridiculous thing he says. it's only a matter of time before he goes off about putting Jesus in the GTS and how he hates black people.

There is more "storyline" than there was in the 80s with the episodic format of WWE these days, so there has to be more control over what the wreslters say in junction with the writers' plans. Punk was cutting his own promos and doing great work for years before he even came to WWE, so now that he's got some stroke I'm sure he wants as little scripting as possible. He's probably gone 'off-script' and done it well often enough to make his point by now.

I never thought I'd say this, but I couldn't give less of a shit about Punk's promos right now. I wasn't one of the ones who screamed bloody murder when he turned, but I just don't care what he has to say. I enjoy Heyman's slimy promos a whole lot more than Punk right now. He just doesn't have anything interesting to say, for me.

Punk trying to fend off Ryback with his crutches was pretty damn funny, I'll say that.

Punk trying to fend off Ryback with his crutches was pretty damn funny, I'll say that. Would be even funnier if Punk was trying to escape Ryback while rolling on a wheelchair.

as weird as it may sound, ever since he's gotten more and more away from Cena the turn has been doing better. I hated mocking King's heart attack, but that aside he's doing better with Ryback because Punk makes a good chickenshit heel.
And this isn't me being Anti-Cena. It's just that Punk's points have some merit going up against Cena. And he HAS beaten Cena clean. With Ryback, he's constantly taken short cuts or been helped out, which helps Ryback get steam.
Now the problem that rears its head is that they have to start building up to Punk/Rock. Last year I feel Cena's feud with Kane was hurt by the timing because the booking felt like "Oh shit, Cena is fighting Rocky next month... we can't have him and Kane still feuding". While they could probably get a bit more time out of The Shield, Smackdown and the 2 upcoming tapings kind of indicate they've moved on.

He's now know as CH (Cheap Heat) Punk. Every time he takes a shot at the locals just to get booed I roll my eyes.
His entire turn has sucked. Went from taking on all challengers 1 week to bitching about matches and being a chickenshit coward the next. Complete 180 of his character. God forbid we have a fighting champion who is a heel.
His promos are boring and repetitive now. Blah blah, I'm the Best In The World, I'm ____ days as champion...your sports team/famous restaurant/city/landmark, etc SUCKS! I don't want to be here any longer then I need to...and so on and so forth.

Went from taking on all challengers 1 week to bitching about matches and being a chickens*** coward the next. Instead of the town and the sports teams, he needs to start ripping into individual fans. Going down to the front row, pointing people out, shooting on them, and yes, threatening to maim or kill them. This even goes as far as if he can get their name out of them, finding the person's information on the internet and harassing the hell out of them on Twitter, threatening to get Anonymous to steal the guy's Credit Card info, post the guy's phone number online and tell his twitter followers to call the guy and troll him over the phone, etc. If he's going to be the new generation of heel, he needs to start LEGITIMATELY making fans' lives a living hell, possibly even ruin a couple just for s***s and grins.

During Cena's fawning over Flair, and Flair's promo, I was praying for an interruption from somebody. My prayers were answered.

"YOU'RE STOOPID!"
It's such a bland and childish insult in itself, but when Punk yelled it out to the audience off-mic when he interrupted Flair, I couldn't help but laugh. It's just the way and how he looks when he says things that makes what he says entertaining.
I don't like the forced heel turn myself, as I feel there was still massive mileage in Face Punk, but he's making it work somehow. And even though Punk doesn't need him to speak for him, the addition of Heyman makes it even better.

From what I've seen, he hasn't been that good a heel. Unless he's insulting the local city or ripping into a legend in his own hometown, he can hardly seem to actually get heat.

For me, his best work is when he's out there talking crap, but he's actually RIGHT. I think that's what made his segment with Flair stand out to me on Monday, because the concept of Cena winning Superstar of the Year (let alone being nominated in the first place), then passing the award to a guy who hasn't been there once the entire year is friggin' ridiculous. Using that as ammo, guy definitely put some passion in his words that night.
