If Cena hadn't got hurt, we wouldn't have even had Ryback as a placeholder distraction.

It's been a huge deal. The show revolves around it. Their hottest new superstar Ryback is still feuding with him even while he's injured.
how is it not a big deal? what are you even talking about? he gets 20 minutes a week to brag about it, the announcers put him over about it, constantly mentioned by everyone

Because the majority of his reign, has pretty much been an afterthought, playing second or third fiddle to something else.

A title reign isn't really a "moment." It started before 2012 and it's been happening the whole year. WWE also focuses most of their storylines with Punk around the fact that his reign has been so long so I don't see how it's not a big deal.
