Probably the suckiest thing to happen to a wrestler.
Ron Simmons is a good example. He was WCW champ at one point but later on when he lost control of the nation of domination(but before being a part of the acolytes) he floated on the lower card.
Who else has gone through this?

I think Vader could fit in this category. Former WCW World Heavyweight Champion and he pretty much became irrelevant in WWF early 1998.

Jack Swagger. This is the modern day example of WHC to jobber.

Tommy Rich. Former NWA World Champion then later on he became a member of the FBI.

Jack Swagger. This is the modern day example of WHC to jobber. Losing the eagle should have been a sign things were gonna suck.

He never really became a jobber but I've always been fascinated by the utter irrelevance of Pedro Morales in the 80s. They didn't job him out, but he only wrestled opening matches against Moondog Spot or Rene Goulet. When I was a kid back then, I couldn't believe he used to be the world champion. He was pretty much the bottom guy on the totem pole in 1985-1987. It's just weird that he still existed in the WWF in that time.

I don't think there really is such a thing anymore in the modern era. People just like to use "low carder" and "jobber" interchangeably nowadays. Like someone with a 25 match win streak will still be called a jobber if they're wrestling in the lower tier of a wrestling promotion's heirarchy.

Tommy Rich. Former NWA World Champion then later on he became a member of the FBI. But there's about a 20 year gap in-between. Former world champs should work more to draw attention and enhance younger wrestlers to the best of their abilities two decades later. Wrestling would be in a better place if more of them did that.

Vince Russo. He won the World Heavyweight title, then never won a match again.

Bob Backlund.
He was Jobby McJobberton in 1993 and into 1994 before he snapped and turned heel on Bret Hart.

Once Hogan no sold the Vader Bomb, you could tell Vader's tenure as a beast was done. He still managed a good run in 1996, and probably could have been a force in the WWF if things has been slightly different. I'd say coming up short at Summerslam in the fashion he did was the beginning of the end. But I don't even think anyone could have guessed how low he dropped in late 1998 doing four minute jobs to Edge on Sunday Night Heat.

I don't think it's particularly sucky that six years after his prime he uses his name-recognition to effectively build new stars in-between runs where he's featured prominently on the card.

Like someone with a 25 match win streak will still be called a jobber if they're wrestling in the lower tier of a wrestling promotion's heirarchy. It's basically a result of most companies doing away with enhancement talent, which, unfortunately, has been one of the worst developments of the past fifteen years. We're all spoiled now and want to see our favorite wrestlers in matches and promos every single week, but it comes at the enormous price of all of these guys having remarkable short shelf lives if they don't reinvent themselves constantly. Lots of potentially very good talents out there get lost in the shuffle because of that.

I didn't see him in his prime and I too was shocked that this was a former world's champion and yea he won a lot of his opening bouts and made it into the hall of fame, but of the former world champions who were not transitional, he doesn't get mentioned much at all

Raven in WWF I would think. If we are counting ECW champs, it basically doesn't get any lower than Justin Credible.

Jack Swagger. This is the modern day example of WHC to jobber. Yeah, he maybe one of the worst World Champions ever, in the history of the whole "World Heavyweight Championship" concept.
