So, we're mocking Billy Gunn but DeMott and Steve Keirn were fine? Nope they just straight up sucked, Billy Gunn is just comical in general. I'm still trying to figure out why Regal never gets the gig, IIRC he's tight with HHH.

The story is that Gunn can put together a match like almost no one else. So, between that and Regal being a non-official trainer if you come out of Florida and still suck, there's not much hope for you.

I don't get how DeMott was ever trainer in the first place. I don't remember him being good in the ring really, and he was always kind of fat.

He was one of those types like Umaga, Husky Harris, Brodus Clay, etc. who "moves really well for a fat guy". If I remember correctly, his finisher was a moonsault at one point.

Good on Billy Gunn. Given that we just had an entire thread about how much wasted potential he had, it's good to see he's still got a good position in the 'E. Think he could make a great trainer.
As for Regal never getting it, has anyone heard Regal say he wants it? Last I remember hearing, he's in a lot of pain from his early days, a trainers schedule may be too much for him.

Rection/MIA, and I think that I saw him do a clothesline once.

I thought, reading that, maybe somebody got a promotion behind the scenes that nobody cared for and that's why the spring cleaning is happening. Could be AJ too though, I guess. I hadn't really considered that as, least till recently maybe, she seemed well regarded by most of the roster and buddies with most of them. Her new, year long dominance of the show and breaking up with Trent might've admittedly changed that. Though if the heresy of Cena's lack of influence is anything to go on, I find it hard to believe she's had any hand in this. Then again, if the heresy of Punk's influence is anything to go on...Cena's full of it in regards to himself and the office might be eying those that have wronged one of their top investments. Yeah, I don't see AJ having a role in his release. Even with her near year-long push she still gets along well and is friendly with most of the roster and jokes with them on Twitter(i.e. Kaitlyn, Kofi Kingston, John Cena, Eve, Xavier woods, etc.) As far as the releases go, not really surprised by Trent Baretta being released. I mean I'm sure most of us had him in the top 5 of people that WWE would most likely release during Spring cleaning. Skylar Moon's a bit of a surprise, but then again with her issues maybe it's a case like Kharma where they release her to give her time to sort things out.

So, we're mocking Billy Gunn but DeMott and Steve Keirn were fine? You accuse us of making fun of someone while not making fun of everyone else? Do you not know who we are? Besides, it's hard to make fun of Steve right now when Are You Serious? does that every week.

Perhaps Regal wants to still show up from time to time on WWE TV? I would imagine the NXT/FCW trainer role keeps him away from there rather permanently.

Trent was last person I'd call dull. Fun as hell in the ring. When he wasn't in squash (so yeah...rarely), he got the crowd behind him. Very much like Tyson Kidd. As far as personality goes, if he had been able to show any, he would have. Loved his weird side. The "Where's Trent?" stuff was brilliant. ...and it all led to this ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN01IwTle5kThat promo was great, his return match was good too, what a great two weeks they were. Shame he never really got a chance but I think he'll do well elsewhere. Odd timing too with NXT losing a lot of people with main-roster call-ups. Also the best wrestlers don't always make the best trainers and by the same token average wrestlers can make good trainers, it's the same in many sports or entertainment in general. I also think Regal may work better as somebody just outside the system, from WWE's perspective he can offer fresh eyes on a situation and from the wrestlers perspective he's a good person to turn to in more of a mentor role.

Good for removing DeMott as the head. From the rumors it sounds like DeMott could be a huge liability if some of his "teaching methods" blew up.

Billy Gunn as DeMott's replacement makes a lot of sense to me actually. He's a goofy guy so he's easy to make fun of but he was always a pretty good wrestler actually and he can put together a match. I think the NXT guys will benefit from his tutelage for sure.

Billy Gunn actually does have a good mind for the business, and in shoots he has done he makes great points on what it takes to get over.
Sucks for Trent, but it could be a blessing as well. Get out on the indy scene, reinvent yourself, and get a chance again in the future whether in WWE, TNA, ROH, Mexico, or Japan.

If Billy becoming the head trainer is true then YES, I love the guy so I'm glad he's in a senior role where he can teach people to be as good as him.
That wasn't a joke either, an athletic big man (relatively) with a good deal of charisma along with knowing how to take a bump is perfect trainer material. Plus he can give advice to others in regards to tag teams. Win win.

Billy Gunn as long as his personal demons have been tucked away is perfect for the role. I'd also love to see Waltman do more work with them, I think he'd be great for not only the lightweights but anybody on the roster.

Maybe my search skills aren't very good, but I can't find the name "Trent Barreta" on the US Copyright website, I can find most everyone else. I was wondering if he would still be able to use the name Trent outside of WWE,
